Thanks for that. By the way, I think the Springs Chopper mud guard was chrome long ago...... I can see chrome underneath what looks like cement stains. So the bike is not in great shape but most of the parts look original. By the way, which chopper do you have?

Got this Raleigh mark II Chopper that looks quite original - but needs mechanical work. Any specialist on these bikes around cape Town area? Any hubbers out there who could help with spare parts for sale, cables/ front mudgaurd etc. Advise would be great in trying to determine age of this bike - Serial number....0871something. 71 maybe.....not sure. The water points were the worst I have seen at any race ever.....embarrassing for title sponsor and more dissapointing for riders.

No bike? It's apparently so technical.......we might all walk. And, of course you will finish if you walk......it's only 650km!!!! Lol!!!

Ok.....I got the first mail saying "We are in" and then the second saying "we are out" So whats with this?

Rode Specialized Epic S-works 26" ........2 months before Epic switched to Specialized Epic comp 29er. Fitted Easton EC90 wheels and loved it. My height is 1.87......and the bike was brilliant. Definitely less fatigued on 29er for me. Can recommend this 29er.....and it's bullet-proof.
