  2. This is not just normal green paint, can you imagine normal green paint in the rain ?
  3. That is correct.
  4. I am told this route drains well , gravel not mud.
  5. I have been negotiating on behalf of the PPA in regard to this with Sanparks. 1. As cycling is an activity you are required to have an activity card to cycle in Cape Point . 2. If you already have a Wild card you still have cycling access until January. 3. By January you will have had 1 years notice that activity cards will be required. 4. The MTB tokai activity card is the same card and the same card works for all TMNP. 5. If you are cycling into the reserve you do not need a Wild card. Regards Gary
  6. In reply to Icycling . It is amazing to me that you as a “Pro”cyclist seem to think that the WPCA can continue to put on league races with more and more prize money. You obviously do not know how they were able to do this for the winter league .These races were put on by volunteers sacrificing their time so that you could race. That is why they were able to have that kind of prize money. It seems you as a pro cyclist would like more volunteers to be passionate about your sport so that you can earn more prize money while you participate in your sport and they do the work. In fact it actually costs the volunteers money to get to these events and the meetings they need to organise them etc. How’s this for an idea take some of your prize money and give it back to the WPCA so that they can send the youth and development teams to the youth festival.
  7. Cyclists according to the road trafic laws are legitimate road users.I am yet to hear of a cyclist causing the death of a motorist or in fact any road user in an accident. This however can not be said in regard to motorists. Using some of the logic I have seen on this article maybe motorists should be the ones banned from driving on busy roads.
  8. Powasol Waxolube for wet or Pawosol Green Mamba for dry. use both for endurance.
  9. Accident happened on Saturday , cyclist was coming down okw towards Westlake when a creme coloured porche cayene overtook in the opposite direction striking his arm with wing mirror. Motorist did not stop.Cyclist is still in hospital , had first surgery on Saturday for repair of blood vessels etc. Needs further surgery to brocken bones possibly today. I don't know how but he managed to get from OKW to Cycle Lab Westlake on his own. If the motorist had stopped he would at the very least been able to help. Hit and run accidents require far more severe legislation !
  10. Cycling South Africa has cleaned up their act and is now being managed on a much more open basis. Rider levies are one of the most important ways to fund the SPORT . I realise that many of you are in it for recreation only but CSA predominantly looks after the sport side of things. It is always great to see our athletes compete internationally and to see them represent South Africa .When they succeed we as recreational cyclists do not realise what it takes to get the athletes to that point. As cyclists we all aspire to the sport and sometimes need to put back a little so that our top athletes can succeed. This includes provincial championships and inter provincial events etc . What attributes to the high cost of races is the fees for timing, the fees for the traffic department etc. Sometimes we complain about the little things because we do not know any better but more often than not it is because we want to have something to complain about.
  11. Nishiki I dissagree with you. In Cape Town we are more fortunate as repairs are generaly carried out promptly after being reported to the authorities. I know people in guateng who have wrecked their motor vehicles due to pot holes not being repaired for up to a year after repeated complaints. To those of you that repaired the potholes WELL DONE !
