  1. i had a similar problem. i have a 105 crankset with the 2 locking bolts on the left crank arm. the clicking noise came from the bolts. might be similar to your problem. take them out , put a bit of grease on and try it then. i replaced the small washers with brass washers

  4. I have found a local supplier for the 20" tubes with pesta valves @ R35 each. not with removable cores, but even the fixed ones is hard to find.
  5. Turtlek, do you still have the Bmx tube with presta valves? don't need the removable core type as using syringe and silicone hose is much easier than removing valve. with tyre level lift tyre bead 4 mm of rim base(not over lip) and just push the hose inside.
  6. tyre was still hard last night, so i tested my mixture to see if it will seal. push a sewing needle into tyre, sealed straight away when i pulled it out. as my tube do not have a removable presta core i wanted see how i was going to refill it without damaging or disturbing the ghetto conversion. got a syringe and a piece of silicone hose at Pharmacy and it was so easy. with a tyre level lifted tyre about 5 mm of the base of rim, not over lip just enough to squeeze the pipe inside tyre and injected the mixture. no waste and it sealed perfectly again. so i dont need a removable presta core Bmx tube but just the standard Bmx presta tube. if i can find it
  7. did the conversion last night. 1st attempt with a Bmx tube (schrader valve) was not an option, as the tyre did not seat proper at the thicker rubber around valve. could not get a presta valve Bmx tube in PE, so used a 24" presta tube. not ideal as you don't have a tight fit around rim. so the conversion was done, no problems sealing and was still hard this morningConti2009-06-09 02:35:54

  10. i know the tubeless topic has been covered a 1000 times. Does the Kenda S B 8 (wire bead) work well with a ghetto conversion? Is R198 a good price for these tyres? what expected mileage on these? thanks
  11. i had a similar problem and took a while to sort it out. it was the locking bolts on left crank arm. took it out , put a bit of grease on and just nipped it tight and go for a short ride. try it, might be the same problem

  14. I'm planning to upgrade my Suntour XTM to a Rock Shox Tora. Is the Tora a good fork for general mtb riding? Is it expensive to maintain, or do you put it in and forget about it? What is a realistic price for a good condition 2nd hand Tora? thanks
