  1. wear different shorts/bib everyday as the padding is not the same and will help with pressure points on saddle.

  17. the first blondie with the nicest legs Johan!leave the rest of peleton!
  18. stay away from a chiropractor! you get to the point were a physiotherapist cannot relieve the pressure on the nerve end any more.i think Dirty Twin is at this stage. then its time for the neurosurgeon so you can have quality of life again. Porky is correct, the hip bit is old school and i dont think its done today. so you are spared from the worst part of neck fusion. after the 6 weeks in neck brace you should be able to do IDT or take it easy on the road. i will not advise you to go on the dirt with your mtb till the neck muscles has recovered.it took me more than 6 weeks to get on bike again, but that was due to my hip( that was @@##$ sore). also the psychological aspect is huge, takes a while to realise that your head is not going to fall off if you do something.will i do it again? YES, in a flash
  19. nee man, ek en jy het al saam gery!
  20. we have ridden together before, trust me Dr. Van knows what he is doing
  21. dirty twin, just make sure that Dr. van aarde does the neuro part(removal of disc and cleaning around nerves) Dr. De Jonge is the orthopaedic surgeon which will do the bone fusion part and they operate as a team.
  22. do it now before you get older. i was 37. its really no big deal as the neck is not like your back, it only carries your head and they operate from the front, so they can get to everything. Dr. Van is brilliantConti2008-08-04 06:26:58
  23. like porky said, it is not such a big thing and is highly succesfull. the worse pain was my hip , where they used a blunt axe to chop a piece of bone out.and that was not so bad either. 3 weeks of work, 6 weeks in a brace and you can brag with titanium inplants! it's normally done by a neuro surgeon. DR. Van Aarde in Pe is the best in our area.
  24. had a fusion between 3/4 in neck. limited neck movement but its the best thing to do.on say a 3 hr ride my neck gets a bit sore/stiff(but not much) and you only feel it once of the bike. after a hour or so its gone.
