  1. (Here is some of the verses, The rest is on. http://www.trianglemtb.com/whyss.php) Better stop short than fill to the brim. Make the bike too light, and the handling will suffer. Adorn your frame with XTR, and no lock can protect it.Claim medals and podiums, and drug tests will follow. Drink beer when the ride is done. This is the way of singlespeeding. Accept difficulty willingly. Accept pain as the human condition. What do you mean by "Accept difficulty willingly"? Accept being unimportant. Do not be concerned with your heart rate. This is called "accepting difficulty willingly." What do you mean by "Accept pain as the human condition"? Pain comes from having a body. Without a body, how could there be pain? Surrender yourself humbly; then you can be trusted to ride any trail. Love your bike as your own self; then you can truly ride anywhere. To ride one gear is natural. Sprints do not last all morning, Descents do not last all day. The follower of singlespeeding is at one with his bike. He who rides smoothly Experiences flow. He who loses the trail becomes confused. When you are at one with your bike, The trail welcomes you. When you conserve your momentum, The flow is always there. When you are at one with pain, The pain is experienced willingly. He who does not get out of the saddle Will not make it to the top of the hill. He who has his weight forward is not steady. He who sprints cannot maintain the pace. He who makes a show is not enlightened. He who is self-righteous is not respected. He who boasts achieves nothing. He who brags will not endure. According to the followers of singlespeeding, "These are extra gears and unnecessary weight," They do not bring happiness. Therefore followers of singlespeeding avoid them.
  2. I think if you don't have a granny gear then the 34T will help, If I remember correctly JP Pearton have that setup. I have noticed that in my case the XT casette last longer then the SRAM. I use X-9.
  3. Where is Mikes Bikes??
  4. Big H That is what I normally do. After the last time one came loose I made it so that I had to stand on the skewer to get the thing closed. That seems to work but don't think I will be able to open it again without using a long pipe.
  5. Thanks for the advice. Contacted TokenFreak and order me a set.
  6. Thanks Mampara thy look nice. Where can I get in PTA
  7. I am going for the stronger one. And the one that doesn't come loose in when it gets bumpy. The skewers came loose 3 times the M&B 24 race. Front once and rear twice. I was told that the KCNC will fix that.
  8. I need to get New Skewers and can't decide witch ones to get. At the moment it is between KCNC and Hope. I can get Hope for about R475 and KCNC for R505. Can any one give me some pros and cons on these. thanks

  12. It all depends on the personal choice. I used to have the Twisters but didn't like it so changed to triggers. One of my training buddy's will never use any thing other that Twisters.
  13. I have the Recon and my sister the Reba. Till date we haven't had any problems with them, and I tend to be hard on my shox's. Both are nice and responsive.
  14. epoh Thanks I will give it a shot
  15. epho What media player did you use to view the video. I cant connect to youtube, so I have to get it from your site. MS Media player cant open the video.
  16. I have replaced my Kenda SB8 on the rear wheel with a CrossMark and tested it last night at GroenKloof. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> First impressions are good. Better grip that the SB8 in the dry and rocky stuff, still have to see what it can do in mud. It doesn't roll as fast as the SM8. I just hope that it is strong. I tend to destroy rear tires
  17. At the moment I am running Smallblock front and back. Wanted to replace the rear tire for more grip but I think I must rather change the front. It keeps on sliding in hi speed corners. I dont mind when it happens with the rear but not that nice when the front tire starts slipping
  18. I was just wondering what tire combo's are being used on MTB. I know that some people are running different makes and model tires for front and back on their MTB's. I just wanted to see what combos are being used and why?
  19. What time will you be at Fountains? We will be in GroenKloof at about +-7:30. That is we decide to go that route tomorrow.
  20. Just wish thy could have tested more tires and sealant's. http://www.mtbtires.com/tech/sealant_test/index.html
  21. So far it looks like Maxxis are being used the most. No one seems to want to say witch model tire thy are using so I will start a Second Poll to see witch Model Maxxis are being used. My guess is it is the Larsen TT.
  22. HR I know but unfortunately I can only give 5 options on the poll. Like I said "I have chosen the tires that I have used before and what most people I know use." Most people I know use Maxxis Larsen or one of the Kenda's. This poll is to see what is out there.
  23. Could you also give the model.
  24. I was interested on what rubber the hubber 's ride on. So please vote only on for the tire you currently ride and not what you want to ride on. I have allowed multiple votes because some have a racing tire and a training tire. If so please specify witch tire you use for racing. Sorry if your make is not on here, but I have chosen the tires that I have used before and what most people I know use. If you tire is not on here then please specify. Please give the model. I currently use: Kenda Small Block 8 Dragson2008-06-24 03:41:24
