    Karbona

Hatfield Cycles have a few Karbona frames my be thy can help.
  2. I have a GT ,Silverback ,Garry Fisher and a Trek. All MTB and Hard tail except for the Garry Fisher witch is a DS I placed the same components, wheels and tires on all of the bikes so the only difference is in the frames. I prefer the Trek because its much more responsive, it handles better and climes faster. But this all cames down to what bike geometry works best for you. The Trek works for me but something els my be better for you. I don't care about the make or looks. I want a good warranty and something that I will enjoy riding.
  3. Most of you probably have seen this but here is a Document from Schwalbe about test thy have done about rolling resistance and tire pressures. http://www.bicicletta.co.za/Downloadable%20Docs/Rolling%20Resistance%20Eng%20illustrated.pdf
  4. I dont have V-brake mounts on my frame only on my fork so my exhausts will be pointing the wrong why . Don't think I want to drill the hole bigger so I will keep them in my back pocket.
  5. I have been told that you can screw the 16g threaded bom in where your V-Brakes are secured to your frame. That is if you are using disc brakes. I have had a look but it looks like the co2 thread is to big to fit. Has someone don it before?

  7. I still don't know about the 26" wheel on the back and 29" on the front. Probably good for training, going up hill all the time.
  8. I saw this yesterday at my LBS. I know it is not new but it is one bad a$s looking bike and the guy that owns it says that it rides good and grips like mad in tight turns.
  9. Kenda's 27.5-inch Nevegal knobby tire http://www.velonews.com/article/74775/kenda-s-275-inch-nevegal-knobby-tire Do I have this correct: This is for the short people. Get a 29'' but put 27.5'' tires on to fix the overlap problem?????
  10. Some more Pics
  11. I had to crop the pics to cut that out. Not I nice site to see in the morning
  12. It was nice and cool Saturday. Almost everything was frozen over even the standing water. KonaFan lifting up some of the ice. KonaFan holding up a peace Broken off. The Iced over water at GroenKloof (Sorry for the bad pics used cell to take them)
  13. Kinshasa. It is not that bad there. The problem is getting the bike there and back. The bike will probably only get there a day or two before I leave
  14. This the CONGO we are talking about. Yet again I will get some good Sprinting "for my life" training in. Getting shot at will be a good motivator to ride faster
  15. It is was going ok. I just got some bad news today. I am going to the Congo for 3 weeks and will only be back on the 15th of August. So don't know how I am going to keep fit.
  16. Would like to see if one of you DIY people can make a bike light out of this. The TitanTurbo http://www.laminalighting.com/Products/TitanSeries/TitanTurbo.aspx "High output models delivering more than 1,300 lumens" Typical Voltage 12.0 Luminous Flux1(lm) TYP/MIN 1290/1100
  17. I was wondering what equipment and spares you take with you in a race and where do you put it. I use to carry a Camel Back and was tending to take too much with me. This is what I carry these days. 1 One spare tube: Typed under seat 2 Tubeless puncher repair kit 3 Tire leavers 4 Multi tool. (With chain break). 5 Spare chain links 6 Two CO2 Bombs 7 Cell phone MedAid card cash 8 Two Gel packs (Don?t worry I put it back in pocket when done) All in small Ziplock bag in back pocket of shirt. 9 Pump (Small CO2 pump that can work as normal pump) 10 500ml water bottle In water bottle holder on frame
  18. 1.8 to 2.5 normally. Tubeless Hard tail 80kg At the moment running the rear at 3.5 because it is deflating when it is lower than 3.
  19. I used the stans kit. LBS just got a new rim strip that thy say will fix the problem. So I hope that will fix my problem.
  20. I have done that. The problem is it only deflates when you are riding.
  21. I inflated it to 3.5 this weekend and it didn't deflate. I was a bumpy ride (hard tail). So the problem is with the tire and not the wheel. Will have to replace it.
  22. The tire is about 3 months old. And I inflate it to 2.5. I am going to try 3.5 this weekend and see what happens. The problem is then that I cant run it at lower pressure. So that means that I will have to replace it. If it was the valve it will also deflate at any time and not just when you are riding. What will a good replacement be?
  23. I have checked the SM8 is a tubeless tire. On http://www.notubes.com/support_selecting.php the Rim should work for tubeless.
  24. I know a couple of people using SB8 wit out problems. The front tire keeps its pressure it is just the rear and only when you ride it wen not riding it it will keep the pressure.
  25. The rear tire keeps on deflating but it only happens when I am riding it. It will deflate to just under 1bar and then will sty there. (No there is no hole or puncher). When I am not riding it it keeps the pressure. I am using alexrims dm18 with Kenda Small Block 8. I fist had the Stand tubeless conversion done on it and I have also tried the conversions listed here on the HUB. Please do any one have an Idea what could be the problem here?????
