  1. Anyone know what race the guy's on the unicycles did?
  2. I'm easily convinced. I'll try the new Bontrager rim strips then.
  3. This sounds very, very promising. I think I'm off to my LBS for some tubeless valves and some Stans fluid. BTW - I have Mavic X225 rims, they not marked as tubeless (UST) however they are sealed (ie - you can not see the spokes), I thought I'd wrap some fibre tape around them and use them as is with out a rim strip. Any comments or ideas?
  4. As anyone had any experience doing a tubeless conversion with non-ust Schwalbe Racing Ralph 2.1 Evo's? I know Big Ben and some LBS have had success doing the conversion with non-ust tyres, however I've also heard of some where the side wall leaks.
  5. Sitting on the dock of the bay - Ottis Redding Faith - Limp Bizkit Sweet Dreams - Marilyn Manson
  6. I'm in that shop every week, I don't think that will work. Although I am wondering if this computer is up to the much tougher life of living on an MTB, see as it does have 2 bike functionality.
  7. I recently bought a Sigma BC 1606 DTS wireless bike computer from my LBS. When I installed it the speed sensor failed to enroll with the main unit. As the cadence sensor worked perfectly I figured the fault was with the speed sensor and returned only that to the LBS. When I went to pick up the replacement yesterday, I found that the rep had left another complete unit, just in case the fault was else where. They just asked that I return what I don't use. Well done Omnico. BTW - this is my second dealing with Omnico. When I wanted a Sigma PC15 watch and non of the LBS that I contacted had any (only Polar), eventually I mailed Omnico, they put me in contact with a shop close to me and made sure they had stock. markStockton2008-11-17 06:40:55
  8. Oh, no, please don't let Pocket Bikes see this.
  9. I seem to be missing something here. Anyone care to share more details?
  10. Bummer Dude, you have my sympathy. If this happened to me today I'd be mad as my 'dale is in the boot! On the plus side you should be able to negotiate a great deal, I believe car sales people are starving at the moment.
  11. Well best they buy and install a good firewall, anti-virus and anti-spy ware. Also best they keep there system up to date with the latest patches for both the OS as well as these products. Oh ****, they don't know how because they arn't computer literate. Catch 22. You either get a secure computer system, or one that is easy to use.
  12. XEROX labs. However a GUI doesn't change the user / permissions / security model, it just changes how you interact with the system. If you don't have permission to execute a file, KDE / Gnome etc arn't going to solve that problem.
  13. You have a very valid point, however look at it this way. M$ has not improved computer literacy, it just lowered the standards. Most (l)users these day's have no clue what a file system is, and to be honest shouldn't be using a computer at all. I'm so glad I don't do end (l)user support, because if I did I'd be spending my spare time assisting with the development of weapons of mass destruction. I still have nighmares about answering the support phone at the ISP where I worked for a while .... (l)user: I just deleted the internet me: what, all of it? (l)user: yes, totally gone. me: I'll advise DARPA, they will want to speak to you.
  14. Foolish PC people. I use a PC ..... running Ubuntu Linux. No anti-virus' date=' no-anti spyware, nothing and send me anything you have. I couldn't care. [/quote'] oi fanboy... just because most people dont write virii for linux, doesnt mean linux cant get virii http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Linux_computer_viruses I'm not dumb enough to execute the thing, especially not with "root" privileges. The reason more virii are written for Windoze as opposed to Mac and *nix, has much less to do with popularity and much more to do with the piss poor security model M$. However M$'s PR department has everyone believing other wise.
  15. Corney but really enjoyed hearing it this morning. Cher, the Shoop Shoop song.

  17. I am so tempted to join this ride, however after: - Babbas - Bakwena - 94.7 MTB and Road - Cradle to Cave I think I'm going to be very, very tired. I think I'll take a rain check on this one, sleep late and go play with other peoples bikes at Northern Farm when I eventually get up.
  18. If you going to buy cloth and resin, speak to either Evan Shaw or Craig Goordrum at AMT Composites (http://www.amtcomposites.co.za/), they import and distribute probably the biggest range in the country. Everything from aviation grade to modelers.
  19. Hi Paul' date=' please PM me with the details. But before you do that, can CF be manipulated by bending and folding????? If it cannot I will have to use aluminium.[/quote'] No it can't. Use ali. Heating epoxy (the resin used to harden carbon) completely destroys it's properties.
