  1. Also take a look at the GT Zaskar Pro, for about 12k.
  2. It all depends...... a buddy of mine drinks more than twice the water I do during a race.... J
  3. Anyone in the Cape Town area the long weekend? Wanna ride in saturday or sunday, thinking majik forest or stellenbosch.... Just for clarification, I'm talking mtb! J
  4. Not huge difference between that Juicy and Shimano breaks, but i'd go with the Juicy.... easy maintenance. As for the shock, the Tora is a heavier shock than the dart, so if your a bigger guy, say 90kg plus, rather go for the Tora.
  5. Just a reminder.... the topic started as SOCIAL ride 22/3, meaning that its "rustig"..... not meaning we're going for a hike, but if someone is struggling we're not gonna give them grief...
  6. PappaBear OneTime FanieFiets Dick Dick's undisclosed hubber-buddy Marius Lilo Mountain Lion (from Stellenbosch) Straatvark Straatvark se beter helfte 3-6 non-hubbers
  7. Yip, 22 March, 6h15 at Villa de Vie, Vredekloof, Brackenfell.
  9. Fandacious, are you joining us then???
  10. Sover is dit ek, FanieFiets, OneTime, en 3 van my "nie-hub" pelle....
  11. I'm rather new to all the technical stuff... so excuse a stupid question... I want to upgrade my saddle, what is the difference between road and mtb saddles? I'm asking because if I find a good second hand saddle I want to take it, but don't want to buy something that won't work... (I ride a Mtb) J
  12. I'm a mtb'er, so sorry, no thoughts.... I can only say it looks nice...
  13. OneTime We start at my flat, Vredekloof Brackenfell, ample parking, but you can ride to there as well, if you live close by.
  14. ZorgusPrime The route is via the farms from Zevenwacht to Neethlingshof, 5km outside Stellenbosch on the polkadraai road.
  15. We'll be leaving Brackenfell just after 6, guess will be in Stellies between 07h30 and 08h00, depending on punctures etc. Going offroad to Stellenbosch, takes a while... Mountain Lion, PM me your number and I'll call you on Saturday morning where we are. J
  16. Trying to keep this thread alive until I find a few people.....
  17. Friend's silver Schwinn Moab was stolen a while back in Cape area....
  18. Ok, I am a mountain biker through and through, but during the argus I couldn't help but notice the Scott Speedsters...... Does anyone know what they price? I am strongly considering getting a road bike as well, and: THE SPEEDSTER I LIKE!! J
  19. Just reminding all is welcome.... Saturday 22 March, Brackenfell. Long ride, but not fast, just "rustig".....
  20. The Mesa comes in a V-brake and disc, same specs but the V about R800 cheaper. The Moab also comes in a V and disc, V=R6000 and Disc=R7000. The mesa has a rather upright cockpit, while the moab is more race designed. It all depends on how strict you is with your budget, because the bikes described in this forum, like the nebraska and giants are all way over the 5k mark.....
  21. Looks like I'm the only Schwinn fan on the hub....
  22. Slowbee, you should also remember: Buying a bike should be about specs, value for money and if you're a pro: weight, but in the end personal style and taste ALWAYS plays a major role.... Go with your gut, without being stupid...
  23. Here is the specs for the Felt Q720. Looks ok, but I don't know the price. Keep in mind that the gears is one step lower than the Schwinn Moab or Silverback Nebraska, and IMO the RockShox Dart is not quite as good as the Tora which is on the Schwinn and Silverback.... 24. Basically the nebraska has identical specs to the Schwinn moab then, except for the gears. Schwinn has SRAM gears, same level as the Silverback, but I prefer SRAM......
  25. What is the specs and the price on the Silverback Nebraska? I'm curious now that everyone is raving about it!
