Okay... So I asked this question in the Giant Trance thread (derailed it slightly), but the guys there might be biased I sold my bike this week and now I'm looking for a new trail bike, for under R25k... The Trance has been on my mind for some months and I know it is exceptional value, but now I have found I can get the Stumpy for about the same price. I mostly ride the Tygerberg trails (Conties, Hoogekraal, new Bloemendal trails and also Welvanpas) and I want a fun bike that can handle some pops, drops and rocks, but climb steep jeep track very well too. I'm not really doing any races. Hoping to get some more honest opinions from people who have spent time on either (or both) of these bikes. I am busy trying to arrange to test both, as I know this is the only way to make my final decision. Difficult choice, I tell you.
