  1. Doping in the end will become legalised. There will be no way of getting ahead of the research that is done in this field. Tests are only developed once the substance or technique is being widely used. Its logical to then say that in essence WADA are always a few steps behind. They are loosing the race on a daily basis. Spectators want to see super human performances. These are some of the contributing factors to motivate legalisation. Another view would be to protect the athletes health. If you not chasing them they dont need to use the risky stuff. Atheletes are always using the next best thing to avoid a positive test. It it were legalised EVERYBODY would use it.
  2. Quite Correct, its in its infant stage but it wont take long. There are so many substances and methods available now WADA dont even know which way to look. Untracable EPO manufactured in good old RS of A. Hemopure, Oxyglobin, Groth Hormones and others are part of the Pro's daily diet with absolutely no chance of getting caught. I say again, 100% guaranteed that you cannot get caught. Its sad in a way that the purists will never understand, but times change. Cycling is now a science. Training techniques are now only a small part of the big wheel. Its Chemical warfare, nothing less !!!!
  3. Changed already. Gene doping already available in Spain. The know how lies in Australia with a certain doctor from Sydney. While there are no tests for gene manipulation its alreday rife in Power type events... Top sprinters on the track in both cycling and Athletics have increased in Power to weight ratios drastically over the last 10 years. This can be atrributable in some extent to Growth Hormones but its believed that Gene doping is responsible for the biggest jump. Pausine was a drug available since the early 80's. It was initially introduced as a Somatropin type Growth Hormone. The fluid was actually an extract from the petuitry gland of a Pig. It wa sresponsible for massive increases in strenght but there were many side effects. This was the drug of choice by the East Germans in the 80's. It was later discovered that its biggest attribute was not its growth hormone type effect but its ability to rid the body of Genes that were 'Non Athletic'. This product is still available today if you know where to look. It wa sthis drug that the above mentioned Pharmacoligist/Biologist used to base his research and development on for Gene Manipulation. It works and its available, and I have met the guy who pioneered it. I know of one Australian track cyclists who used it and the gains were incredible.
  4. Food for thought here..... Why did NOBODY from Phonak get decent contracts after that TDF even though somehow the non climbers managed to climb at the front of the group over the biggest climbs ?????? Why did just about every person on that team get caught or implicated in a drug scandal ??????? One day the cat will be let out the bag. Untill then I will limit my comments about Proffesional cyclists to an absolute minimum. 1. You CANNOT Ride the Tour without Drugs. 2. No Rider would want to start the tour without drugs. 3. Your team will not allow you to start the tour without drugs. While doping has been under the spotlight all over the world in all sports, I can Guarantee you that nobody has stopped or slowed down. New tests mean new drugs. Cyclists are at the forfront of doping. The UCI knows it, WADA knows it and the teams know it. IT WILL NEVER STOP !!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. After 200km, YES.
  6. They did' date=' 3 times at the Giro.[/quote'] o ok, maar net nou die dag is daar gese SA het nie die fondse om enige sulke toetse te doen..very contradictary.... Amoryn, rather stick to the A bunch. They tested the riders everyday at the Giro. Its a UCI sanctioned event, its compulsory to have drug testing.
  7. Cycling in South Africa has so few real stand out athletes. The two at the top are no doubt Robert and David. Say what you like but its the truth. Robert is By far the best sprinter but David will eat him for breakfast in a tour. These 2 are so far ahead of the others it is scary. They are both at the top when it comes to cycling. Unfortunately they themselves together with other try and fuel the fires endlessly for no reason other than to boost their individual ego's. David definately rubs people up the wrong way, but then again Hunter also has a 'shoot from the hip' attitude. What and how they say anything is besides the point, judge them on their cycling ability. Lance Armpump was a total w**ker, but he was also a brilliant bike rider.
  8. They did, 3 times at the Giro.
  9. I don't know him at all and will not even pretend to say i do but if that is the case, that certainly was not called for and won't win him many admirers. I know that chunky rates him big time and always stands up for him, maybe he can aswer my question then? Surely all the above mentioned teams could not be wrong in realeasing him of his contracts because he was not good enough, clearly he is. Look, David is not an easy person to work with. He expects things to be done correctly or not at all. With regards to his Braloworld Contract, there were many behind the scenes issues that lead to both parties not renewing. Both Ryan and David were asking for pretty hefty pay increases to which TBW were not prepared to pay. Its His choice if he accepts the money or not. The only reason I stand up for David is because he is a class above the rest. Wether you like him or not he is way above the rest. Have a look at past results, David is hardly ever beaten by a South African when it counts. Olympics, World Champs etc etc.
  10. Crap. He has a 2 year contract with them. He is their main GC rider for all the tours they compete in. I can assure you, he is no guest on the team.
  11. Bullsh*t !!!!!!!!!!! If Robert Could have beaten David he would have. Please dont kid yourself. Just like David will never beat Hunter in a sprint, Robert has no chance against David on this Time trial. Give credit where credit is due. Nobody can beat David on this climb. I spoke to David after the TT and he also said he was not maxed either. All this crap is unnecessary. They both great riders. Hunter is Top class in the sprints and David the same in the TT and on the climbs. Barloworld might as well have given David their kit to race in. Wherever he was there were 6 Barloworld riders around him, well those that could keep up anyway !!!!!
  12. David spat at Hunter. Saw it with my own eyes. Although Hunter pulled him by the helmet and slapped him on the back before he spat. Thanks for clearing that' date=' can't think of Robbie do a thing like this...[/quote'] Phen I am not sure that is 100% correct... I have been told by 2 of the managers that it was other way round. I also got told the same story by the Comm that reported the matter. What probably happened was the one spat, then the other retaliated. Either way non of them should be carrying on like this at the Giro. Both Robert and David need to sort their sh*t out. Both Carrying to much baggage if you ask me.
  13. David spat at Hunter. Saw it with my own eyes. Although Hunter pulled him by the helmet and slapped him on the back before he spat. Well then they both deserve to get a fine. I only know of Robert Spitting on David. If David did spit on Robert then he deserves a Klap.
  14. as much as I tend to agree with that statement - he does seem to have a hard time actually winning races - but I spose thats a trait of a tour specialist' date=' always up there on the stages and ending high on the GC - he better win the Giro if wants to prove he's the best.[/quote'] Its much easier to win races as a sprinter. David has medalled at Worlds in the TT, at Commonwealth Games in both the road race and Time trial. He podiumed in malaysia with the whole SA team ridinng against him. He won the Giro three times. On One occasion he had no team mates that could help and he was against 4 HSBC riders all week. Spoke to him last night and he said there is no chance of winning now. MTN missed the big move on day one and he was isolated by BW. I put money on it thought that he wins the Hillclimb tomorrow, easily.
  15. wasnt it the other way round? ek vra maar net Jip Mud Dee, it was actualy the other way around. Hunter spat at David. that is why Hunter received the fine.
  16. Nope. Was Hunter that spat in Davids face after David rode away from him. This is the problem with second hand Info.
  17. David is still South Africas best rider. Bit of a pity that Hunter had to resort to spitting in Davids face. Not nice to see those two at eachothers throat.
  18. Ok then, back to Astana... I put R1000 down that they never test positive again
  19. Yip, I have a degree or two. Not that I use them.
  20. Boeing Speak to Simon Henderson aka Grey Owl. He owns a Physio Practice and knows plenty Biokineticists. I am sure he will be able to point you in the right direction. I am not sure shadowing me would be such a great idea
  21. Boeing, If you know what you are doing and the athletes trust you there is plenty of opportunities in Sport. Not just cycling but other sports too. Biokinetics is unforrunately something I know very little about so I am definately not going to even comment on the subject. There are a few other things I am quite knowledgable in and I always think its best to stick to what you know. Hmmm, a journal hey...
  22. Why ???
  23. Hey Barry Been keeping well. Keeping other in shape now more than myself. I see SCC popping up everywhere now hey. You guys need to slow down or you going to burn out.
