  1. num num...
  2. Have these... They do an OK job, can't complain, light the place up and I can see the trail fine for night racing. Use them on bright on both lights, would not use them any dimmer on a trail I did not know well.
  3. AFLD done with Tour testing ? no more cases The French anti-doping agency AFLD has concluded its re-testing of the 2008 Tour de France samples. Bernhard Kohl was the last to be caught and no other cases have been found, L'Equipe reported. There were a total of 30 samples re-tested specifically for CERA, after suspicious blood values had been observed.
  4. A mate got pulled off his bike at the same section Ali did and few weeks back, they were trying to get in to his back pockets and get his wallet and Cell... Did not get anything... Glad to hear you are not hurt Ali.
  5. Have been using a camelbak since 2002. Amazing. 2003 it prevented me from potentially ending up in a wheel chair when I came down hard on my back in a bolder field and hammered the middle of the pack on a huge rock. Took me a while to figure out how to clean it, now have a process that works well for me and I must admit I love my pack. Bought my wife one and she loves hers... All i all, i think they are great, can take a bit of getting used to but now, I love them...
  6. Get well soon Ben...
  7. Wallee, are you in need of attention? or do you have a bad twitch in your post finger...
  8. The thing is that the Merida comes out as a much higher spec than the Specialized. I have a Merida and for the same amount, I could get half of the Specialized... I love my specialized road bike and would have loved the Epic, but the cost could just not be justified. However, I would like to add that if Specialized wanted to give me a free S-Works Epic Frame, I would be more then willing to take it off their hands...
  9. There seem to be more and more Bikes going bacy to having cables running under the BB for some reason... There are a few new designs this year doing that... Odd
  10. Happy Brithday Andrew. Have a good one.
  11. WOW, thanks guys, all that info... did not think that I could get so many people on to a simple topic such as this. Thanks again.
  12. Thanks guys. I am looking at putting a link in my XT 9sp, will make my life easier in getting in to all the corners to clean and service parts. Instead of pushing pins out, I can simply remove the link...
  13. Ok, I am pretty sure this has been discussed before (can't find though), but.... Can you use a Powerlink on a Shimano chain? I know the usual story about, use genuine parts, etc. but does it work. and if so, does the powerlink wear at a different pace, etc. are there any downfalls if you do use a Powerlink instead of the usual pins??
  14. My 2c's Have been visiting the shop since before they moved in to the Paulshof shop, when they were in a business park not far down the road from Sunninghill Hospital. I have worked for the lab in the past, I have bought bikes from the lab, I have bought stuff for my wifes bike from the lab (and yes, they have a GREAT ladies section). I send mails re the epic and always get a friendly response, as I get whenever I walk in to the shop. Yes, I am also a member of the club. No I do not think the sun sets when he sits, but I do think that he is a genuinely nice guy who loves his sport, loves what he does and yes he makes money from it. Great for him, he turned his passion in to his career, well done to him. I wish I could do the same.
  15. ? Or imagine them putting the presenters in some situations outside of their comfort zone... like put Andrew on a hardcore?downhill course with a helmet camera and a microphone... that would be entertaining... or instead of the mundane comentating get some of the presenters from the other sports to come in and commentate on something... like imagine getting old Naas Botha in to try and talk us through a madison.. would be hilarious... Put a small camera on someone like Lange's bike and show what a pro sprint looks like... I would love to hear the sound bites from a downhill like that though... Hee Hee hee
  16. Gobbo We differ there. I would rather say slow riders keep to the curb side of the road. That way no confusion. If right lane, then stick right, that means that should there need for a big group to go past, they don't have to wrap around slow riders in the middle of the road, or risk going off the edge of the road... But hey, am not fussed. Just a thought, use it, don't use it.Pickled2008-09-15 07:49:32
  17. I used clean green before and got some wierd foaming stuff going on, so opted to stop using it.. Now used a standard bio degradeable degrease for chain. a car was type stuff to clean frame and the rinse and oil/grease... works for me and bike seems to enjoy the bath...
  18. Yeah, I bought 3 a while back. Think I got them from the lab. They are OK, can't really complain, I don't use them all the time, but when I do, they are a good measure for my fitness.
  19. I just think that it is an absolute dog show. You cannot justify why a race in Feb is only added in July/August. You ask questions, you get ignored. I understand the organisers have to sign them off, but come one...
  20. Depends on the type of chain. I know on my Dura-Ace chain, those little bits move around and its a brand new chain, so...
