  2. 7:00 at fountains tomorrow? Meet in groenkloof parking, who's coming?
  3. Really? I suppose someone should tell this to the BMX guys and the trial guys. My carbon rigid have taken plenty of abuse off jumps, and drops, and is still fine. I actually find the rigid more fun, the front end is so light, it's super easy pop my wheel over trail obstacles, or do a quick manual our of a corner etc.
  4. For sure! But a 29er HT is softer than a 26 HT. Which makes it the better marathon bike if your not looking at full suspension. What's better for marathon racing? a HT with top of the range wheels, or a full suspension with mediocre wheels? Price wise they should be about the same.
  5. Organ Grinder and sections on Zombie birdhouse is...interesting on a SS
  6. How about the XC course in Fountains on saterday?
  7. You were on the red inbred?
  8. How about another SS ride?

  10. Awesome footage off a GoPro HERO cam of a crash at the Epic http://www.slowcyclist.com/cycling/mountain-biking/hectic-cape-epic-crash-footage/
  11. DS as in Dual suspension? If so, I would stick with gears
  12. There is a Santa Cruz Tallboy alu version on it's way...I would wait for that, should be significantly cheaper than the carbon one.
  13. Around 33km/h if I push it
  14. It's so pretty for a DJ bike I would be afraid to bin it off a jump.
  15. It's defiantly one of the more ugly frames out there, the weird bend it makes just looks strange to me. But then that's my personal taste. As far as the bike goes, it's right there with most of the other brands. Look at the Santa Cruz Tallboy and Niner bikes as well.
  16. Does cycling shoes and helmet fall under clothing or sports equipment?
  17. Sorry to hear How's the spruit these days, safer to ride alone?
  18. HAHA http://www.slowcyclist.com/cycling/dirty-roadies/
  19. It's a good bike, but that's a bike claim, IMO it does not even come close to being as good as the Cannondale flash 29er. I would suggest take both bikes are ride them, geometry that works for one rider might not work for another. For example I know a couple of people with GT Peace single speed 29ers that love them, I hate them feels like a truck to me...
  20. IMO... thru axle does not make such a big difference. You will have to REALLY work the bike hard to notice the difference between a quick release and thru axle, and even then I doubt you will feel the difference. I would go for the better specced bike.
  21. Looks freaking awesome! http://goo.gl/mf3fg
  22. Thats going to be such a awesome bike when it's done.
  23. Awesome bike!
  24. Momsem is by far overpriced for a re-branded blank carbon frame. http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?p=7775602 Buy a blank carbon frame for R5k http://www.hongfu-bikes.com/Products.asp?Id=453 Sram XX groupset(http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Kits.aspx?ModelID=48442) for R12289 Reba shock for R4354 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=54594 Crankbrothers Cobalt 29er XC wheelset for R6725 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=63310 And a saddle, seatpost, stem, and bars...for another R5000 if you want top of the range stuff(thomson, kcnc etc.) That's a total of R33368..heck make it R35 000, with shipping and import duties, although shipping would be free. Then it's still R10 000 cheaper. Cannondale flash at R30k is a bargain.
  25. 34x18 on a 29er get's me almost everywhere in Teaks.
