  1. Wayne's surname was Brunyee. He died of sudden cardiac arrest, no clots blockages or embolisms were found. He leaves behind his mom Jeannette, sister Jannine and girlfriend Shelly. Received this this morning. Dear Family and Friends. Thank you so much for your heartfelt messages and prayers. We will be having a celebration and remembrance of Wayne's life at 2pm at our house in Parkwood, Johannesburg on Friday the 9th May. Please contact myself via pm for address or directions.
  2. His sister is coming from the States and his mom is in East London
  3. Thanks all for the thoughts and additional info shared. Much appreciated. I will advise on the arrangements as soon as I know.
  4. Can't believe it. He was 51 and as fit as he had ever been. I have no doubt he died putting the hammer down in the home straight as he always did
  5. He passed away. Ex cycling partner of mine, we did 3 sanis together before he went on to greater things like la rutta and trans andes. Rest in peace Wayne
  6. I cut a piece of pipe down the length and wrap around the uprights to prevent the crank arms from rubbing. Only need a pool noodle if there is more than 1 bike
  7. from what I saw at Sani they dont work if you wear long pants over them. Only if lots of people see you wearing them will you get the full effect.
  8. agreed, I ordered shoes and they responded quickly and delivered when promised.
  9. resgistered for a special vote yesterday - took 10 minutes and left me feeling very civic minded for the rest of the day...
  10. My dog loves cats.... but he cant eat a whole one himself. Doesnt stop him from drooling when they walk along the neghbours wall.
  11. and I did search before posting.... see here
  12. Hi, You will notice that the government is trying to exclude Sani participants from voting by strategically making Wednesday the 18th voting day ;-). The race guys might get to vote before travelling, but the adventure guys will be on the bike already. Fear not, there is an option but it does take a bit of legwork. You can register to cast a special vote on the Monday 16th. You have to fill in the form HERE and take it to your election office to get permission to vote early. You vote at the station as normal, as far as I can tell. There is no excuse for not voting. Cheers Brian Here is the direct link to the PDF FILE
  13. Having had a few cars, I am now left with bits and pieces of footpacks, rails that I cant really use and that dont really suit each other. i.e a footpack kit from a clio (I think) and 130cm plain rails What can be done with this stuff? I dont think they buy it back or provide a 2nd hand market for it, and people are generally too lazy to mix and match what they need.... I will post the codes and offer them at 40% of new price...
  14. Unlikely... the model for the vitality discounts is based on few people actually getting to gold or diamond... less than 5% of vitality people get there, and they subsidise the discounts that the top members get. Getting a bunch of people to the upper levels quickly is not good for the model... Having said that its really not that hard to get to gold in one year, just most people cant be bothere to do the range of activities that it requires.... Just cycling, no matter how much you do, wont get you there as there are caps on the categories of points..
