  1. Yip thats how it gets you. Isolation is the only sure way to avoid it. Has anyone got a link for one of those "You can earn a billion rand working from home" ads? I'm finally back after 2.5 weeks out, slap bang in the middle of the main part of my training block.
  2. No
  3. I had this image of Vlad swimming as hard as could, then getting onto the bike thinking "40km time trial", followed promptly by 10km of walking......the whole time thinking "kingalton said smash it"
  4. Also I'd have to point out that "smash it" is a very loose term. If you go out at 100% on the bike during an OLY I guarantee you will have the worst 10km run of your life. You need to go as hard as you can on the bike without making your run suffer.
  5. Take it easier than you think on the bike. You'd probably be in zone 4 for most of the race I'd guess but it depends on your training. Just remember you're going to be racing for anywhere from 2 hours to 4 hours depending on how fast you are. So remember that when you get onto the bike....can I hold this effort level for another x hours?
  6. I havent had any issues with the others I have so must have just been a bad batch you got. Ya was super chuffed with them getting holding of me and sorting it out. I was about to go and buy a pair of Assos from Solomons to try out based on the bib thread and now I'll probably just stick with Ftech for the moment.
  7. I've got a spare polar strap and never thought to try this. Nice one.
  8. A couple weeks ago in the what bibs should I buy thread I posted how one pair of ftech bibs I'd bought from ASG on a special werent usable because of problems with the chamois. (think patches had the exact same problem). I never contacted ASG about this...I just considered it one of the hazards of buying online. About a week after posting ASG got hold of me to find out more about the bibs, asked me to send them back and then yesterday when I got home there was a brand new set of bibs to replace the ones I had sent back. Thanks to the guys at ASG who helped me out...really appreciate it. Good on ya ASG!
  9. Flu hit me yest. Training for the week gone to sh$t and now weekend at home. FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. Yeah I guessed as much...I was just taking the pi$$.
  11. Oh. My. God. Does that mean even ride I've ever done is out by thousands of mm? Note to self. Don't wheel bike across living room when measuring wheel circumference...rather ride it
  12. Managed to snag a cheap pair of cannondale from CRC a couple months ago....also very comfortable and fit well
  13. THis is 100% the same issue I have with this specific pair. The chamois is too far forward. No protection on the sit bones
  14. Got some Ftech (3 pairs) and some old anatomic amongst others. 2 set of Ftech most comfortable ever, the third is rubbish. Feels like the chamios is in completely the wrong place - I need to check what model it is exactly but I'd never buy it again. The anatomic are an older corporate kit and are super comfy still. They dont fit as well as the Ftech though. I usually try and wait for an ASG special and then try to buy my size quick....but as mentioned above the one model I got is k@k
  15. With your races being an Olympic and HIM distance tri's I'm assuming you are aiming to be running at quite a high level of intensity over the relatively short distances. I'm talking about roughly greater than 60% of V02 max. If thats the case remember that at that kind of intensity you're body's preference is to burn glycogen and not fat so you will need some carbs even if you are fat adapted. The low carb high fat performance thing works best for endurance athletes (IMO) - IM distance races etc.
  16. Go and try on a bunch and see what fits you best. Best fit = fastest (obviously think about flexibility, etc). Really trying them on though is the only way you'll know whats best for you Try looking at Multisport basement, Tribe Multisport, Troisport Edited to add shops
  17. Jeez that is worth making a friend. Calling all on Momentum Multiply.....please help me
  18. thanks but unfortunately i have no connections there
  19. can i ask how much?
  20. Easybike has the watch only for R4.7k....anyone know of somewhere cheaper?
  21. hahah. thats why I took the cage to work this morning
  22. Also ridden dirt bikes all my life. My Husky SMR is ridiculously fun. I'm not gonna say as much fun as dirt bikes but a motard for short commutes / messing around town....cannot wipe the smile off of my face.
  23. Hahaha. Fair enough. I'm always worried about someone somehow finding out your address from a pic of your plate online. Guess if they really wanted to they could write it down when you're riding past.
  24. Very nice. Might want to edit that pic so you cant read the number plate....I'm paranoid about those things
  25. Yeah me too. Good, but not good enough
