  1. It is Orpen....they are deadly there. They also climb up the cupboards to try get inside. I'm talking about wall mounted cabinets above the sink...they are industrious.
  2. This is more of a home maintenance than improvement question....who knows how to waterproof IBR roofing? I have IBR roofing on the garage. 3° slope so basically flat and during these heavy storms water leaks through and down the garage wall. Think the leak is along the overlapping sections as well as the screws into the support beams. What products should I be buying? What are the tips and tricks?
  3. Tried 24:Legacy. Couldnt make it through 2nd episode. Not the same, not worth watching
  4. Probably the Guide I would guess. I think they are a similar shoe
  5. So you do a VO2max test which doesn't involve something that actually tests your oxygen consumption and then they score you on that? Sounds about right.
  6. I'm lucky enough to own one....its amazing.
  7. Picked up a pair of Jawbreakers on the finish straight. If they are yours PM me with the description and we'll make sure you are reunited.
  8. Registration done. Lets hope the weather holds for Saturday.
  9. Less than a normal weekend ride through the Cradle. Basically flat except for two small bumps.
  10. Yup, I'm still waiting on a refund for my personal IT (they are still "verifying my details" with no expected date of completion) and waiting on VAT refunds for our business. Delaying like its their job
  11. Whens the next one?
  12. One in the classifieds https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/209585-maxxis-ikonhigh-roller/?source=sidebar
  13. Awesome thanks. Will search the you tube for the vid
  14. I havent. To be honest its leaked so much fluid that I reckon it needs new oil anyway and I might as well replace the oil in both forks while I'm at it. Will have a look to see what the seals look like when I take apart..maybe they dont need replacing.
  15. Some help needed. I'm planning on servicing the front forks of my 450 Husky. Fork seal is leaking at the moment so I might as well change the oil and seals as they are probably due. Best plan in JHB to get replacement fork seals? I'm in the Randburg area.
  16. Another question: our first house so water usage etc is all new to us (no base to determine whats alot and whats little). Usage of electricity for first 2 months: daily average of 14.229kWh (we have 3 outside security lights that are on all night so that might drive this quite high. Only one geyser) Water: daily average of 0.701KL (putting some water into the pool which was low) Are those numbers high for a 2 person house?
  17. Update: I've heard that this is common in old houses where the Council supply comes into the roof. The supply only consists of two wires – live and neutral – no earth. Over time the fittings rust and you start getting voltage leakage between the neutral and earth. Going to check with AVO meter tonight.
  18. Not sure about the voltage but we do have those little lights that are recessed into the ceiling.
  19. Ok so I have a home maintenance question which I think I have an idea how to answer but need the collective wisdom of the hub to help me. Whilst in the shower last night when I touched the tap I could feel an electrical charge running through the tap. Enough to send pins and needles all the way up my arm. I was under the running water. I think the cause could be a corroded geyser element whose internals are exposed to the water, and when the element turns on to heat the water the contact with the internals passes and electrical current into the water. Obviously not good. Solution would be a new element for the geyser. What else could be the problem??????
  20. Great race, really enjoyed it. But....no beers at the end!!!!!! Seemed like everyone was keen to hang around and have a beer, chat to those they'd met on the road and instead we all just left to do our own thing
  21. Massive one right there.
  22. Been discussed 100s of times. I think it probably comes down to: 1. Added logistics of 3 disciplines. You dont just get road closure for one road and be done. You need permission and staff for swim, permission to close roads for bike and need to mark that, permission for run and need to mark and staff that. Need to set up transitions etc. More marshalls for bike penalties. 2. They found that the price elasticity of demand for triathletes is higher. I.e., we are willing to pay more. If it was too much the events wouldnt sell out. 3. The added logistics of organising play into the 2nd....there arent as many events as they arent as easy to put on so athletes cant pick from as many on the calendar and become forced to do the ones that are there Sure there are other reasons guys will bring up.
  23. Because we are special snowflakes
  24. He has tried an unfortunately has not won. Registration appears to be our last and only hope.
