  1. Anyone got any view on which of these is better and why? Why wouldnt I get the outride?
  2. Yeah we didnt really manage to stick together. Lost everyone going into town.
  3. +1 on the coke at the finish. Littering was pretty bad. Don't understand...you took the bar out of your pocket, why can't you put the wrapper back? Also shaking my head at one guy who got upset with a volunteer after he failed to grab a water. They're volunteering FFS, give them a break.
  4. Some research....havent had a chance to go through it yet but if anyone is interested have a look http://www.slowtwitch.com/mainheadings/techctr/bikefit.html
  5. Sub 3 Group K Squier - White & Red UTi kit, black Scott Craig8252 Ernokaboom CAV'- hub kit Escapee Travis - Black, white, pink Tribe kit Happy to meet at front of pen. Will also try be there at around 6:15
  6. No, but there were two in the rack next to me at 5150......very nice looking bikes.
  7. How did you decide that the Slice was the best fit for you? Were you able to test a couple frames out first before settling on the Slice? My worry in that in SA I cant walk into a bike shop which has 4 different brands in my side to try (if there is one I dont know about please tell me) So do you go for a retul fit and then try and match those measurements to bike geometry?
  8. Cervelo.
  9. This. Its easy to take the bottle out of the cage and its aero. Everything you want.
  10. Yeah your sit bones will be sore for the first couple rides but then all will be sorted and its happy days
  11. I have the Road and I absolutely love it. Most comfortable saddle I've ever sat on. But like always with saddles, it does come down to personal preference. Can't you try the saddle at the fitting before buying?
  12. yeah I'm keen for that
  13. Still in K...still aiming for sub 3. Assuming those 45km/h winds stay away
  14. Would love another 70.3 in durbs. More events the better
  15. I will be bleak if this is the case
  16. Provisional results are up on website..............but no splits yet....AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
  17. Also saw one athlete that looked like he collided with a cop coming down one hill in the beginning portion of the course. He looked sore as I rode past - hope nothing serious
  18. I have a ridiculous trisuit tan - seeing clouds in the AM and deciding not to put sunscreen on was a schoolboy error. Must have visited the 5150 site 10 times already today looking for times but nothing yet.
  19. 3 laps of 1km. You swim under an arch which has a timing mat hanging from it - hit the mat with either hand as you swim under.
  20. Results are up http://www.midmarmile.co.za/seeding-events/
  21. When I arrived on Sat I at first I didnt see anyone else in a wetsuit. Was super reluctant to be the only person swimming in one but luckily some other triathletes rocked up in theirs. Enjoyed the swim. Would be interested to see the official times so I can get my lap splits. Damn those kids are fast though
  22. So looks like I'll be the only non-swimmer, aka triathlete, lining up for the 3km? Those real swimmers are gonna leave me in their wake. Will be great practice to try and hold onto some feet
  23. No idea. Very little info on registration etc.
  24. so who is in for which distance? I'm in for the 3km
  25. Not sure what group you were in but I heard the announcer tell both the group starting in front of us and our group that the finish had a sharp left turn to come back up the road we were starting from. Agreed that it wasnt the greatest finish but we were definitely warned. Maybe they forgot to tell all the groups.
