  1. Merida Big Nine 900 Bought myself one - great value at just under 11k
  2. I've been through 2 indoor trainers and a spinning bike.hated them both Just got myself a set of second hand rollers and they are awesome (in compariosn to the others-not being on the road) havent got to the stage of being able to watch tv while using it yet- but up and riding after 45 min practice and it feels far more realistic than being locked in the same spot
  3. Hi So i'm considering getting the Trigon TT bike? Anyone have any feedback on these? Cheers
  4. Hi Training for my fourth.Have you considered joining a club - they at least have structured training and plenty of people training towards a similar goal.Club also allows you to join CSA (cycling and CGA). Let me know and i'll send you the details of Aqua tri club (mostly run from Cresta area) Cheers
  5. if it's asics you want try kineticgear - they're in moringside
  6. Agree Hows my refund coming along :-) When do you expect these to be finalized? Surely you have some sort of insurance to cover my flight (i didn't pay by card) or am i getting a free flight for next year  Instead of spending your time organizing for next year and having meetings with cape town - sort this year out  think it's been close on 3 weeks since i requested my refund - twice due to no response tick tock tick tock
  7. nope - extensions cannot extend past handle bars in drafting events
  8. Do what i did when i started out - bought a tri frame (planet-x) so you have the tri geometry and set it up as a road bike. You then get bets of both worlds Also remember the shorter races won't allow full tri bike setups
  9. Aqua tri is your best bet. They have the cycling affiliation as well.Have deals with northcliff cycles for discounts as well as others.Pop me a pm with your e-mail address and i'll send you their membership form thats hows benefits and what they offer Cheers
  10. or so that you don't have to download anything just use paint on toolbar : > image > stretch/skew and do it at about 25-30% horizontal and vertical and it works great
  11. Hi I come from a running background and started doing triathlons 18 months ago.My cycling is pretty average and am looking to improve it quite a bit-besides more time in the saddle increasing your cadence is apparently the way to go? I have a polar RS 400 - can i buy a cadence sensor to fit to the bike that will work with this model or do I have to buy a specific model? If so what is the best model - multisport would be ideal as I still want to use the footpod Is a cadence sensor the best way to go?Power meter is a bit expensive for me Any other tips on improving my cycling?-to give you an idea of where I was and am - I did about 1500km between Dec and end Mar (and aboyut 500km in the 6 months before this) and speed came down from 2:17min/km to 2:08min/km.Did 180km in ironman in 6h05 but need to bring this down to 5h20-5h30 Appreciate the advice
