  2. the slow group did about 20avr. we had a lot of stops in the second half of the ride and that helped a lot. i'll be there and hopefully carms can join me again with martin cheering us on.
  3. this is very sad indeed! i hope they are ok and speedy recovery for the guy with the serious injuries. i rode in that area for quite some time until one day i had an encounter, luckily i got away, but today i still have some emotional scars. its just sad that we say away from the tar roads to safe from pigs in their cars but now we see the scum on the dirt road as well.
  4. thanks Swiss and Ikonic for sticking with us till the end, i didn't think we had it in us. we will be there on the next ride!!
  5. yip, all is ok there. spent a couple of hours there a week ago..

  9. did it last year and enjoyed it. i think this race is very underrated. i'm not very sure about it but if i can remember last year they mentioned something like 900mtr of climbing...
  10. has this one died?

  13. yip, i'm also in, i live in Heuwlisig Estate.
  14. also, when you look at going downhill for example, at 60kph i was peddled out and there was absolutely no way i could keep up, the roadies was flying at about 75-80kph still peddling, in my opinion. gearing makes a huge difference. the momentum gained going downhill will make you reach further up the next hill before you have to stark working going up and the mbt will have to start working way further back.
  15. Sad, but rather take a rest. You don't wanne end up regretting this.
  16. Tnx for the comments guys.
  17. Hi Guys, With the rainy season upon us, how does the weather affect your decision to train? I got caught in the thunderstorm on Friday afternoon and had my wife pick me up from a nearby garage, it has happened a couple of times in the past as well. I’m not scared of the rain, but the thunder kinda rattles me. So what do you do, take the chance and ride or do you wait it out? Waiting would work if you have ample time to train, but when you only have an hour or 2 of light in the afternoon, it gets dodgy. What’s your take? I might also add, as we were driving back home, we passed a couple of guys commuting back to local township, man I felt like a sheep…
  18. This is why I NEVER post, off topic bantering and the general “I don’t give a ****” attitude by the some members. Sometimes I wonder why I ever joined. It feels like “The Hub” went “off Topic.
  19. Anybody up for commuting between Centurion and Northriding?
