Full TT bars are illegal. Just them lil stubby ones are allowed. It is mostly pack racing. Swim hard enough to be in the peleton, hide in the ride then run the fastest. Basically a running race with some foreplay.

Chatted to some TSA officials years ago and they thought it was mostly to avoid having to police drafting in the sprint format. The swim is too short to break up the field so policing drafting in groups get really difficult. I'm a terrible swimmer and average runner so I'm all for no drafting - it is my only weapon!

And that negative 25 degree saddle! Not a conventional guy that - made the bike fitter in me cringe every time I saw him ride. Random thought - I wonder if that nose down saddle was the cause of his knee issues? Makes sense - it rolls the pelvis forward and puts more pressure on the knees - combine that with a crazy drop....

MvdP also has 1 more CX world title if memory serves. After the TdF I'll happily hand WvA best all round road rider title though. That was an incredible Tour for WvA! There are not enough superlatives!

Cough cough mountain biking cough cough. WvA can certainly ride a bike well but with that glaring mtb omission in his plamares he is well behind MvdP on the most complete cyclist scale.

To be fair the peleton has cleaned up a lot since the EPO, HGH and Testosterone days. Hell some cyclists got lunch bags with all 3 at the end of tough stages. It may not be squeaky clean but it is way cleaner than the 90s!

The Danish commentators are saying no more free rides for Carapaz. Or they're saying Ineos will give him free tickets to an amusement park - my Danish is pretty ****. That said - Ineos have given Poggy many more free rides than Poggy has given Carapaz. Ineos only seem to know one tactic. Thin the herd thin the herd. Rinse and repeat. Rinse and repeat. Edit: They have secured 3rd place though so fair dues to them.
