  1. Some insight into the minds of stupid people: https://www.mycarforum.com/blogs/entry/6303-taxi-zooms-off-after-getting-hit-by-oncoming-tour-de-changi-cyclist/ Taxi pulls out in front of cyclist. Cyclist hits taxi. Turns out the cyclist wasn't defensive enough and had poor brakes. Yeah...that's definitely why the accident happened. The taxi didn't stop of course....
  2. Ah. Too much work today for a sense of humour ???? Edit: Can we re-institute the comic sans thing for when you make a funny? It will make dishing out advice so much easier....
  3. Not at all - I fitted a rider this morning with 165mm cranks. An asian lady to be fair. On the lower end of the normal distribution - uncommon but not rare. Most track riders use 165-170mm cranks.
  4. Shorter cranks are better for the knees and hip flexors. Do a little digging - there are a few paper that measure power, oxygen consumption etc and the scientific consensus is that crank length is largely irrelevant (even at the ridiculous extremes).
  5. WTF man? HTF? They have sign boards all over Denmark saying "use 2 more seconds" and every motorist (and cyclist) should do this - the consequences are too severe not to. Condolences to all involved.
  6. That was an amazing race! Rollercoaster ride of note. Italians with gold and the world record. I really enjoyed that (the result not so much ????
  7. Out sadly. Finished last in her heat. She missed the winners wheel coming past and that was her ticket to the final.
  8. Ganna dragging the Italians for 2 laps to win was incredible! Should be an awesome final...
  9. That was really impressive. No 3D printed Ti on those bikes I presume!
  10. Payback for the GB dive at the footy ????????
  11. My first reaction was that when the GB rider got up and finished that GB would go through but the commisaires decided that DK already won when they caught GB (1m behind the rear rider is a catch apparently) so DK goes through.
  12. The 4th rider has to get out the way but the 3rd rider is still active(time taken on 3rd rider). The losing team holds the line and the winning team has to overtake them. Totally the Danes fault. The decision to let them contest the final is correct though.
  13. Just read this piece on Anna Kiesenhofer and I like her more and more. Still reckon her PhD sounds more Philosophical than Mathematical ???? https://www.cyclingnews.com/news/anna-kiesenhofer-the-anti-authoritarian-mastermind-of-her-own-olympic-glory/?utm_medium=social&utm_content=cyclingnews&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=socialflow&fbclid=IwAR2WhcJ-6exYDFQ3KGnaf-kR1Ts2Nv1rIvAUpW1VZVHHQZYZ4FgQjF5k43I
  14. Agreed. That semi wet soil looked super sucky. Zero soft pedalling today - had to work every inch.
  15. Just saw the highlights after the race and Daaaaaamn! Neff almost pulled a MvdP over the drop when her and PP were battling early on.
  16. I see the MvdP ramp is in place for the women's race. Anyone know if that is because of the weather or that was always the plan?
  17. The thumb under the chin ???????? Universal code for "I was kakking off".
  18. Yup it takes compromise from both sides to work. "Real" cyclists want to ride in the road where it's faster and motorists want to offload where it is easiest for them (in the bike lane of course). With attitudes like that on both sides it will never work.
  19. Bike lanes were a revelation for me when I arrived in Denmark. So simple and obvious. It does require patience on both sides though - for instance if you want to turn left here (or right in SA) as a cyclist you can't just turn with traffic you have to stop on the far side of the intersection, turn 90 degrees and wait for the lights to change before you head off. Cars turning right (or left in SA) have to yield to bicycles going straight. They work though - there are many, many, many more bikes here and almost no fatal accidents.
  20. Exactly this - he didn't pop the front wheel at all - just dropped it over the lip like he was rolling down a ramp (that wasn't there!). It is a little weird that there was a ramp there during training...
  21. Of the 3 CX megastars I reckon Piddy has the best chance of becoming a Grand Tour winner (if that is the path he chooses).
  22. Really enjoyed that. I'm a bit of a Piddy fanboy!
  23. Multiple Pidcock attacks gapped him...
  24. In my experience those work better in the air ????????????????
  25. Goooo Piddy. Damn that was a nice save from N1NO!
