  1. Sadly, I think SA is quickly catching up with the first world countries were young folk simply cannot afford to buy property. In the USA today, unless you are very lucky and have a marvellous trust fund, the only way you will own a property is when your parents pass on and leave it to you. Its getting to the point where its not possible for young people to save sufficient money to get a deposit and they need the cash injection from their parents property which they can sell and buy again. Yes, but our generation has different priorities. We are consumer driven where we buy bike parts, travel more, eat out more. Our folks put more of their cash down into property but also didnt have as much choice and temptation to blow their money on. It was a big thing to get a TV or a washing machine or whatever. huhm, where does your priorities lie? roof over the head first... I see so many people with brand new cars and sattelite, and the biggest and best cellphones... living in flats... then I think , what F^^&%# idiots... English lesson first. Where do your priorities lie? I agree with you 100%, fancy cars, big Hi-Fi, nice clothes, snazzy bike and still living with Mom and Dad. My wife and I bust our asses to get debt free ASAP and we are now there. Cant wait for interest rates to go up.

  3. Had a mate who had it done. About 6 years down the line his eyes are back where they were and maybe even worse. Cant have it done again. Apparently his eyes hadn't stabilised and he rushed to have it done. Been to have my eyes checked out (-1.75) and was advised by the surgeon not to have it. I have near perfect vision with my glasses on and he said laser would never achieve this quality of vision. He said unless the glasses are unbearable, rather keep them. Much better suited to peple with really bad eyesight that when they get 95% vision the improvement is so large that they are much satisfied with the result. I still think I will have it one day.
  4. There's that plastic one, cant remember the name but it looks really sturdy.
  5. Lay off the CSI methinks.
  6. What do you have in mind quinton? Big hub ride or piggy back a race?
  7. Thanks for that. I believe that the mineral oil absorbs moisture. I presume a full bleed will just displace the contaminated oil with new.
  8. Anyone have bleed kits that they assembled from bits that can be bought at your local hardware? Pics if possible. Any alternatives to Shimano Mineral Oil?
  9. Brandon, did you not make use of a public forum recently to do your own bit of steam release?! Oh, and dont assume that outside of the cycling world our jobs are rosy and secure and that we all doddle to work on a Monday and everything is peachy. Don't get me wrong, I applaud what DCM Chrome are doing for our sport but as you say these things get complicated and there are many sides to a story. Good luck with the rest of your guys season.
  10. My car needs a wash. You interested?
  11. Your most noticable place to save weight is in the wheels. 500 grams off your weight in tyres and wheels will be a lot more noticable than a lighter fork. Economical however does not fit into your argument.
  12. Nice one Stefan. Good luck with the shop! THULE STELLENBOSCH! Click contact us up top of the page. Dirtbreath2009-06-02 09:04:48
  13. How about putting up a banner on the hub and assisting with some revenue?
  14. What colour is the frame? Just noticed now. Sorry about your loss. Dirtbreath2009-05-31 08:00:07
  15. Get hold of Agent Yang!
  16. I reckon DCM Chrome should chip in.
  17. Very cool. What age are these 2 bikes suitable from?
  18. That just doesnt look right. Shouldnt there be some rubber covering those steel feet?
  19. Hmmmmm. Have you tried closing your windows? Seriously though, Landies have smaller gaps in their rubber. Is that a VW roofrack? I would take it back where you bought it. How do the Thule racks fit?
  20. Hate to burst your bubble but the cup is not in SA at the moment. Crusaders are the current champs. Until Saturday that is. Chiefs have a huge task ahead of them.
  21. Post some pics of how they are mounted.
