  1. And when our national side is full of Bulls players can we call them a "Tool Boks"?
  2. 4 years of fixing other peoples problems. Still in perfect nick. The plastic ends of the flask have cracked though and I would rather have a nylon pouch.
  3. Why do you need to change? You can do just a BB on its own if thats what needs replacing. Have a look at all the different options on CRC if you are set on a new crank.
  4. Problem is it's not "us" vs "them". Have you not seen how some cyclists also become assholes behind a steering wheel. These guys are also often assholes on a saddle. Assholes are assholes no matter what mode of transport they are using.
  5. If they are anything like their headsets then yes. Pricey though.
  6. Lots of camping opportunities on the Spruit. Everyone is doing it. For something a bit quieter, try Mountain Sanctuary in the Magaliesberg. A bit further out is Mankele. This place is really worth the 3 hour drive.
  7. Would love to see your "duck" tape. Is it some kind of feathered variety like those furry hand cuffs? Kinky.
  8. Then you might have damaged a ratchet tooth. If you have a warranty on the lever take it to your bike shop. If not and you care to pry, open up the lever and check if any of the teeth are damaged. I do not suggest taking the inner bits apart as they are near impossible to reassemble. A bit of trouble shooting would be to remove the lever and click up and down all the way.
  9. Did you release the ratchet all the way before you set your gears?
  10. Did you strip the bike? Have a look on the net for different ways of cleaning your bike. I just have an assortment of brushes and a bucket. First time I did it it took forever but then you get better at it and it becomes a 15 minute exercise. You are more likely to clean it after a ride if you can do this. Wait for the mud to go hard and then its a real pain in the arse. I cannot see the point of using bath sealant on my headset and wont be doing so. Do not understand that. I use a very small amount of grease on my seatpost. Just enough to prevent any squeeks. Do this after about every 5th wash when i take my tube out to drain any water that might have gone down the tube. This will probably degenerate into one of those bike washing/lubing posts that can compare to religious debates. What works best for you is best for you.
  11. I only lube my chain most washes. The more you lube the more crap sticks to your bike. I dont see what advantage silicone spraying your pivots will do. When you do a minor service on your bike you can do derailleur pivots, cables, seatpost and then the heads of the allen key bolts. Major services do bearings and anything else. Keep it simple.
  12. A lot of rigid MTB forks have the crown and tubes that look similar to the suspension forks. Tubes are most afton carbon. I think jump bikes rigid forks' look more like the mtb forks of old.
  13. Prize money should be for a place. You cant have a person taking 2 places no matter what their gender is. Same thing should go for juniors, vets, whatever. You enter your category, you race your category, you get your prize for your category. If you are confident you can place in a certain category then enter and go for it. Don't hedge your bets and see at the end. I dont know what the real situation is but merely voicing my opinion here. Which by the way is always right.
  14. Depends on what category she enters in but cant take both.
  15. I know I have posted this bike before but it is appropriate here because it has a custom hip flask as the water bottle. It is called the alcohauler.
  16. Maybe someone can post a map of Giba to show how it works there. You ride up the main drag and then peel off for the unidirectional single track. Never ridden Tokai so not sure how it compares exactly.
  17. You got a pic of the whole bike? Is that a rear wheel on the front?
  18. Nice! Gotta frame the series for the poor boy. As for Azonic, I think we have all been caught out some time or another. Dirtbreath2009-08-25 01:26:31
  19. I just see a bike leaning against a pile of dirt. Next time give me a shout and I'll take some pics of you in the air!
