Bought a new RAVO Tandem The rims are painted black... when you brake they shudder and make an awful noise. What can one do? Skim them? Cant ride them in - would have a breakdown before then... Does make a nice hooter on downhills when passing thanks Maverick132009-05-07 03:36:22

We go speeds regularly of 80-88km/h on the Tandem...
92km/h was the fastest I recall down butchers in the south of JHB, on a tandem.
Cant think of a faster way down a hill other than a Tandem.
Pornstar have the ES one up from the SL's for R5500 ion the classifieds. That is to much, should go for R3000-R4500 (cassette?? tyres???. I am 90kg and riding on mine they will hold you.. they are strong.

10 Speed. and yes Carbon Fork. The problem is the space at the back for the stoker.. and this seems to be a problem with make of tandems. in front it's right on for the captain and for the stoker to small. the captian and stoker are the same sizes 56cm frames. what would be the right frame size in tandem M/S or L/S next step is XL/M right for the stoker but then to big for the captain.. you dont get L/M frames...
Big H Yes Solomons. They talked about Rival all the time.. meanwhile it was their accent that brought confusion. Ok it's got full Ultegra with XT Derailleur at the back. Wheels seems to be cheap TAIWAN TX QUANDO SP3... but lookes like 48 spokes. will upload picture now.
that's why I sold my Titan... want more room at the back. Cannondale are known for room at the back. that's why I thought that the Rival will be good...(made by Cannondale) Have not ridden on a raleigh - will look at it again if you say it's got room at the back. We are 180 and 181

H They don't have it in yet... saying it will be in on Friday. I'm doing the 70.3 on Sunday so wont be here on friday. Sale's guy says it's made by the same guys who makes Cannondale....? So very eager to see it. Will be Aluminum frame.

You guys will fly up the hills if fit. that is very very light!! I wish I could weigh in at 68kg. I suggest you borrow a tandem for the first few rides. You will know after the third time. Take it easy and be patient.
