  1. Mark @ Crown Cycles.
  2. Most direct route if you heading towards Jan Smuts Drive.
  3. Note: That part of the bicycle lane is not always safe.
  4. Albert road/N1/Bicycle lane till lower church street Liesbeek Parkway (bicycle lane) Klipfontein Road Raapenberg road Central and Union avenue etc (I avoid Forest Drive)
  5. Sorry man. Not lekker. I suggest taking it to a lbs and let them inspect it. Worst case you can take it to a carbon repair place and they can fix it and the bike will be perfect.
  6. Only saw your comment now that it's at the back end. Sorry.
  7. You too!
  8. Honestly, Moonlight mass has a back up vehicle, it runs smoothly as is. Not sure what the PPA will do, possibly start charging us to attend? (edit it's help at the back end). Olympic Cycles provide the back up vehicle (thanks Olympic cycles). Think bike marshals look after our safety. Traffic officials look after our safety. Moonlight mass organisers have whistles and tell us when to go etc.
  9. Everybody doing a quick shoe change.
  10. The northern suburbs races. Last year, Die Burger, huge crash at the railway crossing. PPA could have clearly seen this and put a couple of mats over the lines so that they covered the whole road. At basically every race where there is a railway crossing I have seen or heard of a crash.
  11. Lekker if us people in the burbs have insomnia.
  12. Bigger wheels and lower speeds. Thin wheels and crossing the railway not at the right angle at high speeds... Not so lekker.
  13. Buy some nice zipps.
  14. Excited for my biathlon tomorrow.
  15. One of the reasons why I am no longer a member of the PPA. Hardly any races in the Southern Suburbs. Often the races also are not very safe. Crossing a railway with a small mat while the bunch is ten times wider and guess what happens, a crash. I ride for fun now days. Might not be as fast as I used to be but I'm saving a load of money and get to look after my own safety which I honestly don't think the PPA does.

  17. Deflate and fill her up with super glue.
  18. The hills are also fairy scary with all the turns and having people around you who cannot handle a bike properly.
  19. Boyes drive might not add on much time but it will make your legs way more tired as there are rolling hills.
  20. Hope you find a rider.
  21. My team has hired ex army security. They will ride along side us and polity inform the group that we are passing to move over and ride in single file.
  22. Frail, I just fell of my chair...
  23. Also noticed this. Really helps even though my commute is only 22 km's every day and then often a short cycle to friends houses/shopping centre in the evenings. But haven't been laying down the training rides as regularly as I used to so a tad unfit, DC should be interesting.
  24. Would also appreciate a pm.
