  1. So how will we get the full results? I want to know where I was in ranking compaired to the whole bunch, not just the 85 PPA members. That seems to me a bit foolish I think! If this is how it will be I will actually not join PPA (as I was thinking about it) and also never do a PPA event again, because the results will never be actual... Ummm...not cool.
  2. It can not be...only ppa people? So it means they make me pay for a timing chip and dont record my time? And also they fool us (well actually the ppa people) to make them believe they got positions they actually didn't get (as there are many between them who is not with ppa)? EISH!
  3. Where can we find the FULL results? I cant think that the event will only time and list the Pedal Power people. I did buy a timing chip from them so I must be on some list!
  4. Richmond hill right? Maybe Vovo Telo's table?
  5. I am buying mine today - the same, but for a cheaper price.... Dont pay that, shop around you get them for about R599 or so.
  6. Thanks for asking...I am new to cycling - did a 40km 2 weekends ago, was quite technical but I could clim and thus could take the ladies race, but I was to scared to ask about the 55km, thus mar entered the 35km. Kind of feeling like I am taking the easy way out now and not throwing everything at it as I am driving from PE to do this ride! Just hope I don't kick my bum even more about not doing the 55km. Hope you get your answer....
  7. I have found plenty of nice places to ride around the Bushmans / Kenton / Port Alfred areas... From now on I will take my MTB with everytime I visit Bushmans.
  8. DS - without a doubt! Life is good on my DS, won't survive with something else - go for the 'lock-out' option that Scott provides... ...you can lockout front and back or front or back and it is with a simple lever on your handle bars! This is awesome - best of both worlds! (This is of course the short quick answer)
  9. Yeezzzzz...I would love to take part and the entry fees isn't even the problem. It is all about getting a partner to join! Urgh! Seems like I will have to plan better and enter in 2012!
  10. This sounds like exactly like the thing I can not do and DON'T WANT TO DO! This will mean a swollen ankle before the end of the race and out for the next week or two. Also, I know all about the ninja style heel kick - that gave me a springbok on my chest. But thank you for the reply, this sounds to be an option for other people without any screws in their ankles.
  11. I had a ligament operation in my left ankle a few years ago (inner and outer ligaments), but never regained the full ‘turning angles’. Now I can not unclip my left foot with the normal Shimano clipless pedals – set most open. I would like some advice; has anyone here experience this and/or have a solution? Apparently an ‘egg beater’ will help? Wat negatives does this pedal have?
  12. At least I did not say 'ALL'.... I have had bad service from CWC but it doesn't mean I have to write them off... Plus...some of my loyal good MTB friends are on here and I trust them...But I ask here as I want as much feedback and opinions I can get so I can make-up my own mind (which is a strong one) I might not know much about MTBing at this moment, but I am quite technical!
  13. It seems like my chain is rusting - well has rust build-up on it. This MTB is new - bought in February. I have been using Squirt dry lube on it on a regular basis and I do not understand this. Can someone please tell me what I must use or do.... My dad is an ex-springbok cyclist from 1974 (some where) and he said he use to boil his chan in a pot with wax....ummmm...seems a bit rediculis to me at this time... WHAT TO DO? There is also a terible noise coming from the front sproket when riding in highest gear (front and back together).... I need to lube this setup urgently I think. I need some expert advice please!
  14. I have never done the TB, so I don’t know even what I am capable of under those conditions. I know some of my friends that are much better riders than I are planning to do it in 12hours, I assume I will have to add a few to that so I think I will be aiming at about 15.5hrs (at most) - maybe a few driven people can push harder with me to improve this time. Planning to do at least the following events from now till then: http://www.ecmtb.co.za/index.php?page_name=more&type=race&list_id=83 (Bathurst) http://www.ndorfin.co.za/events/event-detail.php?event_id=6691 (De Doorns) http://www.greytonmtb.com/Greyton_MTB/Home/Home.html (Greyton) http://www.entrytime.com/index.asp?GoTo=EventInfo&EventID=3134 (Kouga) http://www.knysnacycle.co.za/ http://www.duesouth.co.za/xterra_knysna11.asp And maybe this one…. http://www.stormsrivertraverse.co.za/ So I will let you know.
  15. Yip, I use the Squirt on my chain, just dont think it is sufficient for everything else; like my shocks and gearset.
  16. Hello, I have confidence in the people on this site; well I guess I can see who-'knows' and who-'thinks'. So I would like if the experts can tell me what-to-lube, what-to-wax, what-to-grease...and if there is any other what-to's-.... Most important I would like to know which products out there are the most popular, not just by price, but as a complete package. Also, how often must I apply; only after washes? I have a duel suspension MTB with disk breaks. Looking forward to read the replies!! HA
  17. I want to do the Trans Baviaans, but my friends that are brave enough are already entered and the other just dont want to attempt it I am based in PE and want to join a team, or if someone want to join me; either way. Please be sure that you are someone who will do it to finish and not give-up when you see the MAC!
