  1. How do you activate the luxury tented option?
  2. Hi Dick, I might have a team entry that is up for sale. Are you still interested? Friends of mine got sick, shame. Pop me an SMS on 0849000094 and I'll put you in touch with them.
  3. Thanks man, this sounds awesome! Let me check how the week progresses and will be in touch re: riding or not.
  4. Howdy, I'm training for TransBaviaans and will be in Rustenburg next weekend (9/10th of August). I'm looking for a group ride if possible in the area. Any suggestions, any speeds welcome. Thx
  5. Fascinating read, what was the outcome. How about some pics guy? Cheers.
  6. Hi Garfield, is this still available?
  7. http://www.mtbworldchamps.co.za/course.html or do I have the wrong event here?
  8. This will be VERY tough. Not manicured, hot, rocky and the climbs tricky. Not an easy route and perhaps start with the 45km one.
  9. From my understanding there isn't a solo category.
  10. I honestly didn't notice much litter. Strange
  11. With it being my second Sani, I set myself a couple of goals, which consisted losely of (A) beating my previous years time and (B) surviving day 2. So, Day 1 (A batch), we did the first 50 at a cracking pace (2h28m) and then disaster struck. My partner's derailleur broke. Not the hanger, no, the actual friggen thing. Eish. After stuffing around and trying to ride in 1 gear, we stopped and converted to SS. We are a bit useless with chains and wasted some time trying to get quick links working, alas there was success and we made it home. My partner being a total MACHINE for rocking big blade all the way 5km before WP2. Day 2 (G batch) was bliss and although we hit a bit of traffic coming down the Umko we had a great ride and ended with a fab time of 6h00. Considering I did 7h41m last year, it was amazing. Day 3 (C batch) was also a jol. Everything clicked and I killed last years time of 4h36m with a 3h42m. Loved every minute of it and it was such a great feeling for training to pay off.
  12. If you riding the Monster 80km you should be freaked out. I would put it on pr with Cradle Trophy 75km as a mate of mine has done Monster twice (6.5hrs and 5hrs) and he did 5hrs on Cradle this yr. I've only ever done the 45km monster and those first climbs are PROPER. The rest reminds me of MTN Rooiberg, there isn't much time to recoup cause even the downhills are tough. Im off to Sani, that's like my training ride for Monster (doing 80km first time). #Gulp
  13. From the horses mouth: @fhpienaar Farmer, the routes seem to have changed ever so slightly. Can you plz comment? I'll fwd it onto forums. Thx. @farmer_glen @sani2c_scoop @farmer_glen @fhpienaar @sani2c_scoop routes may have had slight changes due 2 farming operations. Timber harvesting, haulage route etc. GPS route r 100%
  14. Guys, go and check out the sani website. New route descriptions and total climbing updated. Don't want to give people a false sense of hope, but it seems like day 2 has less climbing in it. Weird, but true. It now reads 1400m total climbing where in the past it was anything from 1700-2000m
  15. I'm dying to fins out what's in the legendary goody bags... Def trying to enter buffalo category, gonna be a jol. My partner is a moose!
  16. Hi all, believe it or not, but I have a spare TRAIL TEAM Entry available. Can you please call me on 0849000094 if you want it. Standard price applies and you will more than likely be cycling under a different name, but you'll experience the race and get all the kit and #BOOM.
  17. Don't miss SuperCyxling 2nite. last day of @sani2c_scoop & a hint of what awaits 2014 riders. http://t.co/TKqOid9wOH. This was a day or so ago, I missed it.
  18. Follow them on twitter and check out Facebook. Ive also asked for more comms. @farmer_glen @sani2c_scoop hey Farmer, the riders are dying for some comms. Hearing a lot of ppl saying the "hype" machine is missing.
  19. Mackenzie club starting to take shape and transform into a green race village. "The Barn" will be new @sani2c_scoop http://t.co/apgwCzuI8r
  20. OMG, racing snakes... This post made me look back at my overall years running up to Sani. In 2012 between May --> Dec I did a total of 30hrs. In 2013 May --> Dec I did 120hrs. ROFL! I feel much better about Sani this year and hope to have fun, compete and enjoy it. Touch wood no technicals.
  21. Condolences, guess we should take something out of this and all go and have stress EKQ done on our own hearts. RIP fellow rider.
  22. BTW, a friend of mine spoke to Grant Usher (SS legend at Joberg2C) and he said that many ppl are over trained. He did nothing for 2.5weeks leading up to the race and the guy friggen owned on his SS.
  23. Your base sounds solid, you'll be fine.
  24. So I should actually be in D batch then, yet I'm in A. lolz, day 2 we'll prob be dropped down.
  25. Totally, I didn't have a "great" Sani last year compared to the big boys although I was happy with my time. Not sure how we got into A batch for the trail, but hey, my friend has a great motto - "Go until you blow!"
