    Formula 1...

Unlike Sir LH44 to miss a photo opportunity.......
  2. Was he flying the Black Widow when it got hit by ligthing at the 95 Waterkloof airshow? I do remember that event as if it was yesterday, as he went through the clouds the plane was struck.... then he disappeared for a while to do system integrity checks.
  3. https://www.pfalzerwald.com/ https://www.clarochel.com/ Both German Shepherd Dog Federation of South Africa breeders in Hekpoort & the cradle area. My Koda was a litter of both breeders and train at the same club. He is 8 months now @ a health 30kg.
  4. Darn i obviously did miss the memo....sigh
  5. Agreed, a total mess. Today was a particularly bad day i must say, from the far West Rand to the far East Rand and back, was a nightmare...... And since when are indicators optional on all cars, thought that was just BMW's
  6. Purchased the Ecofiber blocks on a Builders special, but only replaced the sand end September, so still a ways to go for the first "service". I have a 3-bag filter, and yes it is not recommend with a 1.1kw motor, but need the pressure to be able to pump the water all the way up.
  7. LWB, I am using Ecofiber in my pool, and it appears to work ok. I have a small pool, but with a 1.1kw motor, due to the filter being well below the pool itself. I am trying it because i have a thatch roof and when it rains hard or hails we get a lot of bits in the pool, which does not always get purged nicely during backwash. I might add i still backwash even with the bricks in, but have not had to service the brick yet.
  8. Not sure there is affordable anymore....Cracked a molar during initial lock-down, to get a crown 3 x visits with a total cost around R 19,800. All in all it was a great job. But only on a medical savings plan, which would have blown all the savings, and more, so it was all out of my pocket.
  9. Very nice place, to me it had a "feel" like Knysna sort of vibe and weather, when we visited there. Have an ex-saffer mate who lives there, he says he will never leave Whangarai (Fangary).
  10. Try Gaby's Bazza Ku, a nice tasting Peri-Peri sauce, NOT burn your taste buds off hot. And support local Durbs guys.
  11. Agree: Home affairs is a horrible disgusting FUP of a place and to be avoided at all costs if possible. I did my ID and Passport renewal & my daughters @ Nedbank Lake View Roodepoort. What a pleasure, 15 in-out, never to set foot in a Home Affairs office again, if i can help it.
  12. An absolute beast of a gun. Was able to sit on a twin barrel 35mm AA gun encampment when they fired a salvo many years ago, took my breath away. Would donate my left one to give the A10 gun a go!
  13. Love them all, but "there can only be one".....A-10 Thunderbolt, purpose built, slow, indestructible and that GUN.

    RIFLE

Yup, one hell of a noise & back blast, shot one of these at De Brug in the 80's, and RPG's, then moved on to the Milan.
  15. Try Rudd Street between Marne Rd & Olivier Str in Rangeview/Noordheuwel, close to the Hobby Park off Robert Broom. Short lung buster, not recommended in the wet.
  16. I.M.H.O. it is the best venue for the fandamily
  17. Does anyone know for sure if Modderfontien is open on Friday?
  18. Yeah, obviously i was too eager to collect mine after receiving the email to say it is ready to be collected. Got mine yesterday from Cycle Lab. Thanks
  19. Went to CycleLab Fourways (new premises) last Wednesday and they did not know what o was talking about?? Where did you collect your T's?
  20. Man, I have trouble holding onto one and she is small, how do you hold onto three of them!!!!! Obviously you have better brakes than i do, or you can run faster...
  21. Slightly off topic, is the guy who rode the Orange On-One SS on the Hub? Looked out for you at the finish.....well mabey you finished before me
  22. I consider myself to have fairly good technical skills so I'm not sure how everyone else did on that section but it was narly. Dito, i too feel i have fair technical skills both up and downhill, well i walked/pushed some of those sections on Saturday.
  23. Wow what a great ride, 70 was tough and technical just like it should be. Boy that second "surprise" climb after Greek Church was, well unappreciated, as I started cramping at the 45k mark, thanks Eric . Well done all the organizers :)
