  1. "I'm very happy today! @ReinardtvRnsbrg took a great win here at the Argus today. I'm personally frustrated, touch of wheels, nearly crashed!" Arran Brown
  2. Helen Zille is in Simon's Town. This is where she was planning on getting onto a tandem to complete the race.
  3. News from the ladies crash: Cherise Taylor in neck brace, Robyn de Groot worst - off hoping not a broken hip.
  4. Ship! Thats looks hectic. Not really full tilt sprint when it happens isnt it?
  5. Well done Ashleigh. Hope the ladies are all fine.
  6. Geez the action sounded thick and fast following the updates on Bicycling Mag on FB. Congrats RJvR!
  7. Had to cancel on Thursday, due to work. Working on next year already.
  8. Yeah all the best if you're lining up at the start. Stay safe!
  9. Having to unpack the suitcase I was meant to use in CPT right now.
  10. Works been getting in the way of the important stuff. Had my leave approved months ago. Last week decided to cut my trip down from 2 weeks to 2 days to fly down for the weekend. Now works had the last laugh. Not coming anymore.Still have to make the calls to cancel flight and tell the family I won't be coming. Gutted! DAMMIT! Going out tonight and I'm going to finish a hole bottle of wine by myself!
  11. You only really need "the 2 towards the end" me thinks. If you're still within range at those points you'll want to know about it. But yes, keep "average speed" on your monitor somewhere and you'll be fine.
  12. Sunday 11 March http://www.uncoverthecape.co.za/weather-report/images/sunny.gif 28º Fine with a moderate south-easterly wind well there is your latest! Any chips on how many times that is still going to change?
  13. Anyone ever done one?
  14. http://www.timeslive.co.za/local/2012/02/28/ride-the-argus-cycle-tour-route---from-home-video
  15. Why is this thread so quiet or am I the only one getting excited.
  16. Final climb is 5.8 km at an average gradient of 10.3 percent, reaching up to 13.5 percent over the last two kilometers. 2400m for the hole stage! The one we were meant to do alas, hopefully next year.
  17. What ride? Oh that one! We never managed to secure permission from the Omani authorities to ride the full stage so the Green Mountain never happened, but we hooked up with some locals who took us over the climb of Hamriya and what they call their TT loop for a 90 km ride. The climb wasn’t too bad, 7 kms long going up around 400 metres with a few steep sections up to 18%. I know Cav and Tyler got dropped when the pros did it later that day so it’s definitely a climb.
  18. Its been a really great experience! Obviously wayyyy different then visiting say The Tour but this was amazing!
  19. Well this years addition is almost over but I’m already looking forward to next year. It amazing the amount of access we had to this cycling royalty. I still felt bad sticking a camera in their faces but how was I going to sleep if I let the opportunity slip? So I got my souvenirs!
  20. Tough to lose their bikes but at least they're unharmed. My sister lives there and I was merrily riding around that area last year. Not on Ontdekkers though cause thats a deathtrap! It also says they were following their regular route "along the N1" so hopefully they werent "on the N1" because that's just suicidal.
  21. Only 47 riders rode Sub 3:30 from U last year! Yikes! I will have to fly!
  22. Beefed up to U from Y! Happy to get out of international. You get them in all shapes and size there!
