  1. You will have to elaborate on 'moderately paced' and 'more distance' to give some idea on what you looking to do..........there are a few places to ride out in the North and I am sure you will be able to join someone somewhere.
  2. no comment......just smile and wave.......smile and wave. :-) http://failblog.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/epic-fail-photos-fail-nation-hydrating-fail.jpg
  3. ka ka ka....that's funny!! Seems to be the MO for these small airlines...............how many times are their flights are delayed etc aswell when the mainstream guys (SAA and the gang) seem to be able to deliver....? Albeit at a higher fee. Given the option now...no bike for the race or more for airfare....I know what I would have chosen. (yes, yes, in hindsight that makes me soooo clever!) Hope it pans out okay tho....this must really suck.....
  4. I passed the same one in 4ways a while back....seemed their cycle clothing, shorts and shirts were fairly priced...First Accent stuff.??? where can this be gotten cheaper?? (I think the cycling pants were between R500 and R600, shirst around R300??)
  5. wow......is this the typical roadie attitude reflected on their website?....No wonder they have such a k@k reputation!
  6. If the holes are on the legs cut the pant shorter so kan like to haf hot pant shorts and then nogal designer ones to boot!
  7. I think they have an even BIGGER bottleneck there to get the ship into it!!
  8. is a single speed like a big BMX? (just asking in case I come across these awesomenesses....)
  9. Route markers need some attention...............rode there last week for the 1st time and alone - not pleasant. The grass is as long as what you are tall on some sectionsso you can see nothing either way.... had no idea where i was twice, stripped my moer and left ater an hour..........
  10. Same thing this week-end. Been off the bike for two weeks with flu....so feeling sorry for myself (and not too fit to begin with) did a moderate 12km on Sunday morning..................to be passed (at pace) by a steel framed dik wiel that left me for dust. I could not even bother to chase him as I was already exhausted at 11km and on the way home..... So, back on the wheels and back into the training programme. (read eat less, cycle more) :-)
  11. Thats why I cycle at 4:30! This is a shame - cyclist or not...RIP.
  12. Confucious also say "man with willy in sand - going to catch crab"
  13. I too am a novice in the saddle..........so short and slow to start off is fine. If you are talking morning rides that equals 4:30 in the morning for me because I leave for work at 6.......does that work? I am in Norhriding -- nearish the Bellairs Mall.
  14. hi, what time is 'in the morning'? Where exactly?
  15. If you SMS me I will give you my opinion......
  16. If you were riding her at the time, she may have a case......
  17. Hi, Interesting article on bike insurance.............. fyi. My link
  18. Hi Jacques, Have you found any clubs/cycle buddies yet? I am trying to get back on the wheels after the winter break and am needing the motivation. Still very unfit so would suit the slower pace and shorter distances to start with..........and then gradually improve. Always easier to do it with someone to help you stay motivated........ I am in Northriding.
