Ok now I'm also starting to believe it aint going to happen, anyone close to the dome with some news??

Come now scotty, don't be such a pessimist; it's like this every Tuesday..then come 6pm and the sun is out. Plus with this weather we get some cool sun sets.

Just had a cloud burst here in Parkwood, but the sun is coming out again and it looks OK out towards the Dome, so I'll be there.

The last dome crit for the year, not the biggest bunch but I think we all certainly enjoyed ourselves. Thanks Alex for organising. Bored Girl giving us the pre-race pep talk First neutral lap with everyone still together. Thuggie and IanJ off at the front on the first racing lap. Ianj on super juice leading... Thuggie in second... and the rest of the bunch first lap. I will stop my commentary here in case I get into trouble.

One word bud!! GREED!!! The greed of whom? No bank forced anyone to take credit or to buy a car they could not afford or to borrow money they did not want. The greed at play here is the greed of the CONSUMER. Banks do what banks do; indeed, our banks are nowhere near as reckless as those of overseas, maintaining as they do a debt/capital ratio of 10:1. Five large US investment banks were permitted by the federal reserve to move up to gearing of 30:1 and even more (these are organisations like Lehman Bros, Bear Stearns, JP Morgan chase...remember them? Consigned to history). So, don't go blaming the banks while you drive you fancy car that you can't afford to put petrol into, or go home to your swish neighbourhood where you can't afford to put food on the table which hasn't been paid for. If consumers are too foolish to see beyond the end of their noses, they have to shoulder the blame too. And if that means the bank coming to claim that which is the banks...well, it is within its rights... Agreed, the greed of the man in the street is a huge problem,BUT, the problem I have is that continued greed of individuals who run the banks and who saw the writing on the wall long before the sh$t hit the fan. It's one thing to stay within prescribed ratios, but not when you are endangering shareholds investments and clients savings. They should be held accountable for the mess the world finds itself in now.

Never had any of these "down to earth explanation of the structural mechanics of bicycle wheels." in my day. All I remember of 4th year Structures was pages and pages of formula's, and I should know I did it twice. Well done to you NickD for taking the theory and getting someone to explain how it is applied to things we see everyday, I wish some of the lecturers had taken the effort in my day, I may have even completed the degree in 4 years.

Their should be a rule as to what pictures of bikes you may or may not post..... and this one should be banned.... Seriously cool Bike enjoy!!!

This is good news.. I need to already replace a shirt due to a silly incident on Saturday morning, lets just say the "THE" in THE HUBSA... is now well and truly part of the tarmac .One thing I can say though, is the bib short material is really strong, there were no tears on the shorts even though I still ended up with a rather nice roastie.

Please add Troy and myself to the list for the ride and Amateur we'll be bringing some munchies for the cats and dogs.

The ref. should be from SA, I'll be on his side. Supporting any kiwi or Aussie team is just not on!!
