    ja i was checking out lsat years strava profiles for the guys that did the 40 and i was thinking i will get dropped there. and then not to talk about that botsmanskop climb....but alteast thats 99% of the climbing done for the 40.

    I am starting in the first group of the 40k, going to get dropped in the first corner, again.

    I have learned to only trust windguru and they predict rain until tomorrow lunch time and then the temp has dropped from a high mid 20s for sunday to currently 19 max. Basically no wind so it will be a nice day out on the bike if the mud behaves.

    So i finally made my mind up to get the upgrade kit as i need to replace my cassette and chain anyways soon. After checking around a bit i pulled the trigger on the M8000 XT "upgrade kit" from CRC. Ordered the SLX cassette instead of the XT and i paid 2.5k excl shipping and vat. So if you add all of those i paid for my XT/SLX upgrade kit what you would pay (at the cheapest) here for SLX. Got to love the stronger rand/weaker pound. If i compare to some of our local online retailers i saved 25% on exactly the same parts and thats incl DHL shipping and VAT.

    I hate when they build brand new track for an event in the winter because all that loose sand turns into the kakest mud in the world. But my drivetrain is already past its expiry date so it wont hurt my pocket, just not looking forward to all the chainsuck. Was planning on going 1x after weekend, maybe should consider it before.

    Doing my first 40km, also heard the same but i am going with the right relaxed attitude so i'll make small talk while waiting my turn.

    My only concern is no where vitality stated that 1200 is the weekly cap (that i know off) so they can make that higher for the top earners. But with our legal system being in the state it is, will disco win a court case if you sue them over this crap? Yes i know we (those that took) signed contracts with disco saying we will stick to the rules. But i cannot think that one can just do what ever they like. What if your bank comes to you and say yes uhm we decided that youre house payments will stay the same but because 2 mil 5 years ago is actually 8 mil in todays money we are going to make you payback 8 mil instead of 5 mil. Isnt that the same crap? Or have i just not had my first cup of coffee yet.

    This morning we are down to R2500, Pound is getting a beating. if only they had stock of the stupid ispec B shifters.

    This was my first trailseeker this year, do they have new ways of scanning your board at the events? last year they scanned you in at the chute and at the end they scanned your board again. This year my board wasn't scanned at chute or at the end?

    Where was the hives? Up the old pass? Saw a couple of hives but not a single bee. What a tuff day, got dropped by the B bunch within 2 kilometers...Way faster pace than the half normally has in B bunch. Sorry that i was so in my moer by the time we got the singletracks. With 4 kilometers to go you go up the last hill turn right and go down a hill with alot of sand....being so tired and not paying attention just happy to be moving without having to pedal i lost concentration and front will slipped out and i went otb. I think there was a bit more climbing than 1300m but me and my buddies garmins might be wrong. Will i be doing it again? NO

    I never said his prices was not good, and as he said with the pound in its state it is everything became cheaper over night. I ordered something on tuesday from a UK company and they didn't have stock so they reimbursed me, i got 10% less back on the credit then what i paid for the items all thanks to brexit.
