  1. The long route also changed they only climb the old pass over to nuweberg dam and then come down back into the country clubs grounds and does not climb to the top service roads any more. From there they go to the a to z trails which is really why i want to do it. http://dynamic-assets.mapmyfitness.com/routes/fullscreen/1110855636/ Compare with your profile from last year.
  2. Keep in mind i weigh a balhaar under 130kilos so to just change is a lot more difficult than just changing, i go through a whole mental preparation ceremony. And then if i bargain on 66km with 1300m climbing i will stretch my ability to exactly that and if it is 2 kilos further on the day (like the 50 miler turned out to be a 51miler) i am screwed.
  3. Half marathon: 2015: 2016:
  4. Its a completely new route for the half, they also taking the half over the old pass and none of the single trails on the western side of the dam.
  5. Half looks like 38km with 640m climbing and full is 66.6km with 1290m climbing. Maybe i should change my entry to the full instead of the half but then again it might end up as 2190m climb.
  6. I see it does say 2016!!
  7. hahahaha i think the profile is still missing for the helderberg one of last year.
  8. Any update on the routes? Will this be the same routes as last year?
  9. So i dont understand, doesn't W2W use your saseeding index? Then all trailseeker etc. events count towards it and not just this expensive event?
  10. My same thought of last years event. Saw a few guys that couldn't ride because the wind was blowing them over. Luckily im a big fella so the wind couldn't lift me.
  11. The bufFetolives website addy is wrong on the entrytime website.
  12. Don't know if you can see the flattening of the grips, this was taken last night and the last ride i did was Saturday morning. It seems that if they stand for a while they do get some of their shape back. But also keep in mind that if you had too put a weight limit on these grips i would be over it.
  13. You didn't maybe hurt it when you put them on?
  14. Thanks, my parents moved just after i finished school to namibia and they are moving back next year so after a LOOOOOONG wait i am finally getting it in my own home. It was designed to be a dinning room table as well.
  15. The pool table was been a couple of years back, my final project at school. Dont have the space to make big stuff at the moment. Have made some pallet couches, large table for outside braai (photo attached), couple of coffee tables, redid our kitchen and bedroom cupboards last year and i am planning a plasma unit as well but the wood prices are killing me.
  16. My bike is like a bucking horse, i have to grip tight or he throws me.
  17. I noticed the "deforming" since day one. All i do before a ride is i "twist" them so that a thick part is up again. I also noticed saturday on the 50 miler that my palms were hurting like a bitch towards the end which never has happened before. But i think the thicker grips will sort this problem out. Dont know what i am going to do with the 3 spare sets i have...
  18. I found that motorbike sealant is a bit think for my liking so i add a little engine coolant to make a bit more thin. Not that specific brand though.
  19. Wont work for me, i would be licking my grips everytime i go for a ride.
  20. Did the 50. Missed my estimated time by 15 minutes, which is not that bad. The last 26+-km broke me completely, They still made a comment at the start of the 50 that if you are over 90kilos you will suffer, well try almost 130kilos without kit and then we talk again. Saw a few guys that hit the wall worse then me, gave one dude some dates and a banana in the last few kms. Only issue i have is the 50 miler turned out a 51 miler Water points were great, i didn't have soup but i heard they guys that did take it saying it was great, i had some bread and potatos which was great. Was awesome stopping at a water table and all the poeple working there was super quick to help and refill bottles. I ran out of water from our water 1 to 2 and again towards the end, Will do it with a camelbak next time. Also got a bit peed off with some of the 100 miler guys coming past in the last couple of kilos thinking that because i am doing the 50 i wont be able to descend and then getting stuck behind them on the downhills breaking all my speed which must help me up on the next hill again. But i guess this was a dirt roadie event. I heard one lady got attack but a farmers boerboel, he took a bite out of her thigh and she had to go to the hospital. And that was 3km from the end. That sucks. And then where we turned into the wind some $#%^& sat in my slip for more than 10km every time i slowed down he would just slow down even more, didn't want to help out at all, but i saw he had a specialized shirt on so i can't blame him.
  21. Or just to mix and match colors at will.
  22. Cannot wait.
  23. Create a seperate garmin account only for this purpose and dont link it to strava and only link to vitality?
  24. Jeez wanted to sign up for this now but the $45 registration is a massive one. Anyone know of similar service for cheaper registration? Rather pay more per parcel than a massive registration fee.
