  4. Where is there new shop? I am in the market for a new Merida 29 big o nine :-)
  5. For R10-R11 k you will get a lot of 'bike',just be patient and look around. Enjoy!
  6. + 1 , very true !
  7. I am with you on the sand, maybe they should call it the'sand pit' ! Like the place though for riding and I will be back when time permits......
  8. I know him and his voice will be missed over the airways ! RIP Robbie and Warren, very sad news indeed :-(
  9. What happened? ATC JNB ?
  10. This is definately on my list of rides to do !!!
  11. Sure , thanks just was not sure what you were trying to say. Have a good evening, I am out of here.
  12. @baster is pissed off and rightly so - no need to make sarkie comments and crit his travel arrangements Stretch , sorry I am missing what you are trying to say?
  13. I have flown( piloted.....crewed ) there aircraft for them a number of times over the last year( no I am not employed or work for Mango, just drive there machine when they short of flightdeck crew) they are a well 'oiled machine" and definately an airline I can recommend to people. What happened to you, could have happened on any other airline, and trust me it does. I hope you will catch your breath in the time to come as they have without doubt taken some energy out of you.
  14. To be honest with you,neither ! I am also a 95kg rider,and these are not a bullet proof set a 95kg weight,sorry !
  15. Enjoy the race,I am jealous,I am working Grrrrr !
  16. Sorry to hear about your misfornune, are you the only person whose bike were not loaded,or are there other cylist aswell that awaits there bikes? From which airport did you fly? Jnb or Lanseria ?
  17. I would like to believe you can,but then you need again to get the normal fork mounted lock-out lever, which will cost you I a sure more than what you going to ge for your secondhand remote lockout contraption......move it to betwee you shifter and stem area, there it will be out of you way to prevent accidental activation of the lock-out.....and bob's your uncle.
  18. Maybe another option is to position the remote lock-out mechanism in such a place that you can't accidently un-lock the firk when you bump ut with your hand. Wow keep the whole fork as is(original),that way you don't have any possible issues with fitting a lock-out on and getting very little money for a secondhand lock-out system. I bought a brand new one her on the hub for R450-00 , so I don't hink it is worth selling. Good luck !
  19. Not me, but when is this taking place ? I am always ready to find an excuse to not be at work :-)
  20. And I agree 100% Grebels price for the bike if it was in excellent condition
  21. A bicycle depreciate quicker than what a ballon can de-flate when you nail it with a big sharp blade. The Trek 1200 has been coming for many years. 2003 onwards( un - correction ) . I just sold a 3 year old bike that cost me R58k to build with great difficulty for R22.5k so, your frieds bike will then be worth not a lot I am affraid,I would say to be generous and realistic,if you give him R3.5 max,it would be a good deal for him,but it's your friendship here,so good luck.
  22. If your friend paid R6000-00 second hand for the bike he was ripped off,but unfortionately whatever anyone might say or suggest, comment or recommend......it's now a cash settlement between you and...............what your friend will accept .............o fcourse to to keep the friendship. Maybe a bit more detail or year model groupset will also help,if I am not mistaken the 1200 was fitted with 9SP Tiagra?
  23. My wifes Kindle started to fade in the corners of the screen, got online support, the guy on the otherside ask a few technical questions to see whether there is something he can assist with remotely, then said'there a problem with the unit'we will replace it.....5 days later UPS delivered to her work with a return couoon for UPS to collect the old unit ...... I recon it's the best after sales service I have ever seen. 11 out of 10 for Amazon !
  24. I bought myself a Breithing Aerospace on Paradeplazt Zurich in 1997 for R6300-00. I have had the battery replaced twice and got a major service done on it last year Oct at Breitling again, the service cost me almost a much as I paid for the watch but still worth every bit I paid for it ,for me a good watch tha you like is a investment, more that what I can say about the money we spend on bicycles, cars, etc.
  25. I can't comment on the Hope BB as I have never owned or ridden with one, I do however have a Chris King BB on my road aswell as MTB and have not had a single days problems with it.
