Did your actual RD bend and broke(snap) off? How did this happen? I am not a Shimino user myself, but the 105 has been around for ages and is a very good and reputable groupset,so I would not just dump the whole groupset,unless you suffer from what most of us"cyclist'suffer from is constantly spend money on new and the latest and greatest equipment. Your tripple crankset is actually a very handy and nice thing to have on your bike and you can fit any other RD upgrade with your present groupset,but make sure you buy a med (sorry,wrong) long cage RD if you do continue using your triple crankset. If you currenty have a high cadence(which is what we all aim for) the a compact crank is ideal.....best of both worlds, I have been using a compact crank on my road bikes now for about 5 years and will never go standard crank again( but hey I am not going to win any race , do I hear the testosterone littered guys saying.............moffie) well who cares, they have never helped my going uphill.By the quick glance of your length, you will need a 172.5mm crank lenght even so much more if you say you aim and have a high candence. I see you mention Shimano and Sram, don't forget ,there are other real groupsets out there too . OK hat on my head, jacket in my hand,I am out of here !! Good luck with your repair.
