  1. First you pay for the otter walking fee(cause there is no hikers on the day) All in all you pay to have the trail open for 4 days since that's how you normally walk it Then you pay for the 2 night camping in a tent that they supply anf for food-not sure if its free this year Then you pay for the company that drives you to the start and back Not sure what's all the costs involved but you simply can't compare it to kloofing or running a normal trail with mates I life in george and run trails a lot for trianing but this is racing against the best and the elite I agree its expensive and it will soon be more expensive with less value for you money but there will always be a huge demand Same as events like the poineer and the epic you pay lots to race with the best and it will never be cheap End of the say its simply a business for the owners and no one does it for the love of it All I can say most of these high profile trail races is wort it but its flippen expensive I resently did the swartberg treverse- a 4 day event orgenized by drylad(same okes that does the pioneer) It was an amazing race and worth the money-made some great friend there
  2. http://www.solisbikes.com/mtb/pyrolite/pyrolite.html Maybe this-not sure yet
  3. One of the best trail races in sa Next year it will be the other way around, naturesvalley to stormsriver The sub 8 is for the more expierenced and elite and the ramble more for the slower guys and first timers It a hard race with lots of stairs and in my opinion anything below 7 hours is great, sub 6 then you know you good and sub 5 you're just in a dif class You have a short prologue the day before the time and the main race is the next day There a few water tables along the way -also a few river crossings and its all happening in one day Train and be prepared if you wana do this one-its not normal road running

  15. you het these bikes in a silver colour sprayjob that i dont like too much, the sell for R19000 http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/giant-xtc-0-29er , then you get exactly the same frame in black with the specs not as good as the silver frame for R14 700 http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/giant-xtc-1-29erIt exactly the same frame and both bikes weigh in on the shop floor at about 11,kg's I am thinking of getting the black on but will change straight away to a better, say xt 2x10 Frames are alu but i dont realy want carbon this bike seems like an ok bike do any of you have one? My aim is to get it just below 11kg's and it should be good enough for me All in all with the changes it should be about R17 000 the wheels on both these bikes is also the same Any other option you guys would look at, spez is just too expensive for me for now Thanks and have a lekker week
