  1. I dont fuly agree with streching too much before i run, rather runthe first km at a slower pace and the speed up streching afterwards is great though

  6. @ polo, jip you will be eina f you are not used to it when you are a bit fitter it still hurts but not as much
  7. Thanks Super Mario that explains it well to most
  8. speed work and hill work works best and give you the best results when you fresh doing this distance probably would have been ok if you are totally fit and if you were doing it at a slower pace , for me personally i take 48 hours off after hard hill or speed training
  9. Hey, not only trail running but also road running , for me it feels like if you can run a good pace 5, 10 or 21km you can do any kind of shorter distace mountain bike race with very little training and still do fairly well stading in the saddle seems to help my hill training again so it will be great if you can do both just make sure you get the right shoes for your feet specially if you weigh more than 80kg's
  10. was not the best condition and loads of runners , if i heard right they said there were 17200 at the half-it must be a nightmare starting in a block somewhere at the back
  11. Agree but riding that route is mostly fire roads and open flat road, going zig zag up the mountain you wont be doing on a bike and then a presume getting all the medics and all the Table mountain rescue teams on a few different spots must have cost some bucks I agree its expensive but its one that i can tick off my list the were some okes riding the bottom fire roads on their bikes, And adding the free puma trail technical shirts of over R300 and its not that bad
  12. Hey gents thanks for all the advice , it will take too long to import for me so i think i might go for the magicshine 1000lumens light do any of you use this spesific light?
  13. hey gents This was one amazing run and also quite technical and tough, just the way it should be My heart rate went sky high from the first km and only settled after about 9km's of which the first 9 where basically all uphill it started with 180beats on the first km and then stayed in the 170's till 9km i didnt really train since i had an appendix op 3 weeks ago so it might have been something to do with the op aswell anyway, the run is stunning and they had lots of guys taking photos , its higly recommended
  14. i manage to catch the rain at 19km's while doing the half and then the heavens opened up, so glad i wasnt on that long route most guys didnt run their goal times including myself, wind were apparently up to 50km's per hour at certain places,
  15. Leaving now for Cape Town, the trail will be good weather but it seems like its going to be nice and wet saturday Good luck to all the runners I will be in block B running in Nedbank colours and very bright traithlon shoes
  16. My wife will be doing the the Dryland 360 an needs to start night riding and winter is coming so she also needs it for earl morning rides. She will have a headlight cabletied for backup but she needs a main light on her handlebar What can you guys recommend and where can i get it, i cant really go over this price bracket Thanks
  17. Hopefully i still have some good legs after the trail run , If you can push to the front of your block and also stand on the side where they have the firts big turn in this case it is a right i think -it will be imposible to cross over between all those guys
  18. jip its expensive but i wanted to do it and i was lucky to get a ticket I will be doing the full you better rest with that its and see a good physio about it , also make sure that you try and do roughly the same amout of training on the road and on the bike Goodluck with the half , hope it doesnt hurt too much
