  1. GL, what times do you expect to do for the race/bike leg/total
  2. So come on hubbers, give us your feedback
  3. sorry to hear about your wrist - best to get some advice from some of the coaches, or ask your bike shop who can help you
  4. Heed is pretty good not sweet at all, and Cytomax is also very good
  5. A better bike is not going to make any difference to your average riders\ that i think we can all acknowledge, for example the only real difference between is Ultegra and Dura Ace is 200g odd and a couple of thousand bucks. It does make you feel good though, and if you can afford it, why the hell not. Someone is till going to eat your lunch on a big hill on a bike thats half the price if they've done the work. Whats makes me sad is to think how much really expensive carbon is hanging up in garages all over SA (particularly the northern suburbs of JHB) that never get ridden Sungun252008-02-21 05:13:29
  6. can you share your insights in the meantime?
  7. I agree, Indoor trainer is a definite yes - safer than road - better structured workouts especially for intervals and HR training - great for technique - an Ipod is your friend and get a sweat shield unless you want rusty cables
  8. Having just got back on the road after a 5 year layoff, I can definitely say that its a negotiation with the family about how much I ride. Basically my wife agreed to the time it takes to ride on condition that most of my weekday training is on rollers and that I race only 1-2 times a month, with a focus on 94.7 Argus and shova. (I do one club ride a weekend and run on the other day) This means that I am usually done and home by 9h30 and I get to spend the day with my family. even though I am averaging around 10hrs a week of training. Incidentally one of the primary reasons I havent migrated to MTB is the extended time that the discipline seems to require and that its a quantum more expensive than road will ever be. (although I guess you could argue this) All training in my opinion has to be balanced with my home life, having an unhappy wife and kids is simply not a recipe for a happy life, Plus I really miss them.
