  1. You don`t have to be a member of a club anymore. You can get your 2013 CSA license for only R75. I went to their site and paid via EFT. After this I just mailed them the proof of payment and asked to activate my license. A little hickup when my status said "Awaiting club confirmation", I just mailed them again and told them no club membership required anymore, and they set my license to active.
  2. There are 2 obvious possibilities of what happened to the fork. The travel on the Reba can be adjusted by removing/inserting a spacer inside the + air chamber. The other more likely scenario is simply that the + and - air pressures are not set correctly. I have been using my SID with too much pressure in the - air chamber, causing the fork to feel like only 80mm travel and sagging too much. When I let out some - pressure, it regained it`s rightful amount of travel. Either way it seems the LBS messed up.
  3. No it can not alleviate the clipless vs pedals debate. Too much scientific evidence.
  4. Just beware of this
  5. Does it help to put a jacket on?
  6. My friend was riding a 26er Trance, I gave him a test ride on Oak Valley on my Anthem 29er. One week later he had got an Anthem.
  7. For a trail bike, I would go for this: http://www.silverbacklab.com/2011_website_SILVERBACK/slider275_13.htm For a do it all bike I would go for this: http://www.silverbacklab.com/2011_website_SILVERBACK/sprada1_13.htm or of money is no object the Pivot Mach 429 would be my pick as a do it all bike.
  8. "enter some stuff". Just stating, the Trance is a trail bike, I would prefer something a bit faster for events.
  9. The Trance 29er is one superb trail bike, but you stated "get fit/go fast". First decide if you want to do trail riding or xc or endurance. A good 100mm travel 29er dually like the Anthem 29er is very versatile for messing around on trails but also can go fast.
  10. What I don`t like about the Schwobbel tyres is that grip deteriorates way to quickly with usage. So if you have a sponsor and can change your tyres every 3 months for free, then the Ralph is a great tyre.
  11. No need discussing Schwables here, the Maxxis Ikon Exo is better than all.
  12. For me there are only 3 choices: - Maxxis Ikon Exo: Lasts long, good consistent grip, 30g lighter than Ralph Snakeskin - Racing Ralph: Good grip, rolls very slightly faster than an Ikon, but wears out 3x quicker, Snakeskin 30g heavier that Ikon Exo - Ritchey WCS Shield: Good grip but less volume, rolls as fast as a Ralph and wears out just as quick but 60g lighter For a dually I like the Ikon front and Shield rear. The Shield (same with the Ralph) wears out quickly especially on the rear, but it helps that the Ikon on the front lasts so long, so only have to replace the rear regularly. For my training wheels I`m going with Ikon front and rear cause these just last so long and is bullet proof. If I only had 1 wheelset I would probebly go with Ikon front and rear or stick to Ikon front and Shield rear. I would not consider any other options. The Contis are heavy, the X-Mark has bad grip and super-heavy in UST, the Nobbly Nic rolls slow and is heavy, the Ron too thin sidewall.
  13. Been riding mtbs That`s better.
  14. I prefer the Ikon`s grip to the Ralph. But what is the deal breaker for me is how long the tread last. The Ikon is by far superior there.
  15. That thing is dangerous!
  16. On the sides near the head the cobra flaps can clearly be seen, it`s a rinkhals. I think I`ll rather take my chances with the Cape puffies.
  17. I like the burning of the road bike.
  18. This is the bike I would get if I would ever make a comeback to road: http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/merida-scultura-evo-da
  19. Habana needs one of those.
  20. He rode a 26er?
  21. Where to find the truth? Questions linger through time Unbreakable will and inquiring mind Have always been the seeker's guide The Reason as my sword The Knowledge as my shield I'll face my foes again and again On the ancient battlefield I can't deny what I've seen So towards the great unknown I must keep going on Stop your quest Or with fire you'll be cleansed Confess... Death... Woe to the faith Through dark centuries The wait for the time When all is revealed Unbreakable Stands through time Dwells the proof of life Eternal Earth of mine Cleanse our souls No good thoughts shall burn Engulf the passion of life Eternal Fire of mine Carry it on The ancient wisdom of mankind Eternal Air of mine Renew us within Wash away The remains of lies Eternal Water of mine Indivisible Beyond death and life The answer divine Eternal Elements of mine The gatekeeper of the knowledge The One who was trusted the secrets of time and space once said: To know is your destination To find is your possibility And to search is your quest. Your path has merged with the truth. But yet you refuse to see it It's easier to be afraid, to be deceived, to be a sheep Be aware, question them, question yourself Because once you see it, you can never look away Every man's Horizon can change But eternal skies Will always stay the same Like a new sun arises from winter's cold and dark grave, it's unstoppable. Keep your twisted beliefs Sons and Daughters of Dawn are calling me The fire that burns my flesh Shall light up the words I've said The curse on my innocent name Shall put all of your in shame Woe to the man Who disheartens the few Who reach for the light Who searches for the truth I only have just one more wish That this torch will be passed onto someone sentient like you When your time comes, don't lose your heart Have faith and patience and trust in the flame before passing it onto someone new
  22. And it so happens to be that my perception is very much in tune with reality.
  23. A full backline of Aplons vs a backline with DeVilliers, with the same forward pack, would result in something like Aplon 125 DeVilliers 0.
  24. I have never seen any instances where Aplon or De Jong were unable to defend against a player because of size. Or that they messed up a high ball by being to short. I have seen many instances where the bigger player was unable to defend against them. Maybe against a team like NZ, I would include a run `n bash player like F Steyn, but in De Villiers place, I`ll still keep the danger player De Jong.
