  6. Hi Bikebloke, I tend to agree with Barry_W. I'd say strip down completely, check for any issues and give it a good service. Perform labour yourself or get a friend with the knowledge and proper tools to assist, saving you the cost of a bike shop rebuild. Spend money on new cables, bar tape and brake pads. Then ride it for a bit. Gives you time to decide on whether you want to go forward with a full repaint. Enjoy the process; it can be fulfilling. Sean
  7. Hi Guys. Thanks for all the advice with the links, etc and passing on your know how. Glad we've got a long weekend coming up. Plan on taking a day of "me time" - hope to spend some of it following your links, and it's links and so on. Sean
  8. gummibear made me do it. I've decided to "Unfollow" this topic, because of you. Everytime theres a post on this topic, I get beep on my mobile phone. So I have a look. And spend the next half hour staring at my phone or desktop screen. I have to cover up the screen, my colleagues glance my way, see the smile on my face and think the strangest thoughts. Just thought i'd let you know. So I won't be picking up the mobile to check the posts any longer. It will have to wait till later the evening, once everybody else has gone to bed. Keep them coming
  9. Hi LC. Many thanks. I'll reach out to him. Would be interesting to find out more about the local history. Sean
  10. whatever you do, it would be a great ride for next year's Eroica
  11. That's a beauty. Love the old cranks. We're these ever manufactured in SA or were they fully imported? Maybe my eyes are deceiving me, but I don'the see any waterbottle cage bolts.

Good morning all. Just about 2 hours before the start of the race. Hope you've all been responsible people and performed all your chores before you tune in to the PR. Going to tackle my garage; see you later:)

  15. Hi all. Anyone interested in a Bridgestone Radac frame and fork. I purchased the bike a few years back for the parts. The rear derailleur hanger bolt requires attention; the thread has been stripped. Size 56. Thanks Sean
