Looks like umpires in general are picking on men (or men are just more likely to break the rules), and Ramos in particular hands out code violations disproportionately to men (again, because they break the rules more?). What an emotional roller coaster. I was like a praying mantis, ready to pounce all over that entry process. 1pm comes along and I am in there -> next, next, skip, team name, next, save, continue, next: "Application Submitted" - take that suckers. DC here we come! I click continue. Boom! PPA forgot to pay their IT bills again, and now I'm busy contacting councillors and psychologists because I have 11 depressed race snakes with nothing to do in November... After contacting PPA, apparently that is the message you receive if you were too late for an entry. To me, that looks like a software developer broke something (and I was a software developer!). Now to pick myself up and try this all again tomorrow, at an increased rate. So much for being a PPA member for the last 22 years!

I have some questions: How fast can you ride 202kms? What's your take on being cannon fodder for pros? How does your psyche handle being dropped 3 times in one race? (That's if you're having a good day) How does your psyche handle getting to the checkpoint only to discover that the backup vehicle, with all your snacks and juice etc, has already left? (That's if you're having a bad day) Through and off, or take as long a turn as possible? Do you stay to party afterwards, or go home right after finishing?
