Hi i dont do many races but this was really one of the best long distance events i have ever done. The water points where amazingly well stocked when you think about how remote the places are they have to be taken too. When you think that every point at 12:30 in the middle of the day had ice then you realise this team of dryland are amazing and speaking to them you quickly realize they are also athletes and damm good ones that are also aware that they need to do something for the communities they live in. Sponsors were amazing , a wide variety of useful snacks and friendly service, guys willing to lube and attend to even your bike wow that's special I will be back next year as i only managed 100km but what an awesome experience.. Hi Conrad I reckon reckon 250 per day as your are renting specialist bikes that need special TLC if something goes wrong and also a refundable deposit needed critical of at least 15% of the retail value of the bike. This will cover any claims you might have if one of the bike are crashed or stolen. copies of id and proof of residence or hotel address if foreign and copies of passport.

I have been an ardent supporter of the Andy Baxter Brand ( called Intrepid) when it was called Intrepid back in 1997 and even then its was competing with well know brands and descendant of the high quality product known to us now as Cape Storm. It goes without saying that brands are built by people and their passions and this will undoubtedly lost with a company that some how does not seem to have the same enthusiasm or passion for a continuance of the legacy generated by CapeStorm. Having been a part of the development team in same way or another i can vouch for the rigor and attention to detail and articulation and ultimate performance Andy has demanded from his team and fabrics they employ. 5 samples later there are still a few tweaks and so forth.. Its this delicate weave of passion and fabric that has delivered the performance and comfort we have come to expect and demand from a Capestorm Garment. Borne in what we proudly wear,boast and toast to over roaring campfires, freezing mountain passes and yes those moisture draining singletrack trails in every part of the country. Performance by Capestorm because they understand and have done their homework. I doubt these new muppets will ever grasp or even begin to understand the complexity of performance clothing in the real sense of the word. How many of these directors actually own a Cape Storm garment ?
