  1. I had one just like that until a few months ago. Only things different were the wheels, bottle cages and pedals, otherwise exactly the same. Mine was CAAD 4.
  2. I had a pair of racing jacket's back in the day, can the new ones now fold?
  3. Not sure if its available for BB, but recently loaded an app called "OsmAnd" on my Android phone that claims to do exactly what you need - havent had the chance to test it fully yet, but looked pretty good.
  4. I remember back in the day when i was doing downhill, the gazzalodis were the tyres to have (if they would fit in your bike!)
  5. Thought this was a PE thing, seems it happens in your special place too! Dont think it only applies to bike shops tho - I constantly struggle with all sorts of suppliers, customers, etc. not calling back or even answering my calls. It IS very frustrating!
  6. Got my bike back last time with a story that the technician had crashed it while testing it in the parking area. Luckily, there wasnt bad damage - at least visually anyway - but i have done a few hundred km's since, so it cant be too bad.
  7. Eina! Was that you Capricorn?
  8. Gee, ja, it is easy to let it the scale climb a bit higher during winter, but hasnt been too bad this year, only 1 or 2 kg's for me - Been really bad weather to maintain the training.
  9. I sometimes hear a bit of a "rattle" when going over bumps, but not sure if thats more in the headset or in the fork (could be a bush int he fork). I want to service the fork as its never been done, then if the sound doesnt go away, i move onto the headset.
  10. I have a rock shox tora 318 u-turn
  11. As i have been using my mtb for a few years now and never serviced the fork, i was wondering how many fellow hubbers have serviced their own forks for their mtb's. If you have, would you do it again or just send it in to be done by the guys that do it every day? i dont have one with gas - i would imagine that would bring the expertise level down a bit.
  12. I think the right word to use here is... UNIQUE!
  13. I might just use them too, I compared prices of a game between btgames.co.za and kalahari.net and this site was cheaper. And if the crap that i get in my email can save me some money - im happy!
  14. haha thats funny! I tried it and didnt work. Clever marketing tho if they spread the rumour them selves, then let one or two people through then the rest it doesnt work for - those people still check out the site and the good prices.
  15. Thanks guys for the info. Ill be heading to the LBS to buy a new chain first...
  16. I was out riding today on my mtb and the chain broke. thankfully had a chain tool to fix it, so carried on riding. It broke quite a while back and fixed it then as well. But i recon it is time for a new chain, what i want to know is if there is a rule of thumb or a way to tell if i must replace the cassette as well? I always thought the one must be replaced with the other, but someone told me not necessarily. Is it like replace the tyres on your car and not doing the wheel alignment?
  17. ja, um... no comment!

  19. maybe you guys looking in the wrong direction... sa post office i say!
  20. Hang in there Stewie. Took me from the begining of the year to get people to notice that i lost anything. Funny thing is, now im not really active (besides work) is when most of the weight fell off. Spose its different for everyone, but the eating healthy and no "inbetweeners" is what did the trick for me. Especially the inbetweeners!
  21. Cannondale all the way man! Tho, i dont know OBike!?
  22. I'd be pretty bummed if I owned the pawn shop, but i suppose it comes with the territory. U gotta have an eye for checking "sneaky puffadders" coming in and selling stolen goods if are teh owner/buyer. but then again its just like scrap metal yards buying stolen telkom cables! Suppose the bottom line is... Make them give it back!
  23. Is the pawn shop obliged to give the bike back or does the owner have to pay? I really hope they catch the perp...
