  1. I'm also on the heavy side (103kg) but run 0.8bar in the front and 1.8-2.0 in the rear. Works well for me. This is on Crossmark ust's
  2. Have also given this a try. 1week of no sugar and very little carbs and i'm 3.5kg down. In just 1 week I feel great and by BP is now normal. The only downside is the headaches and light headed/high feeling but some salt seems to fix the headaches, jury is still out in the light headed/high feeling but no one has ever complained about getting high for free!
  3. That youngster was a moron. He was riding the 20K, there was a long line of people waiting patiently to cross over the bridge but he pushed his way past everyone then fell off right in front of me The camera man jumped down lifted him up, we grabbed him and put him on the side. He was obviously in lots of pain. Saw him in the medical tent after the race, medic said he was okay and they were giving him something for the shock.
  4. cash which I obtained from getting a 2nd job
  5. nope. Delayed reply from a few pages back
  6. The usual riding in the middle of the road taking the entire lane up, making it impossible for cars to pass. It was only in a few places, most were riding single file or in two's which is fine, it's those that were riding 3 and 4 that was annoying. I was not in a hurry but at that time those people were not going for a top 10 spot so there wasn't a reason to hog the lane other than to annoy the motorists. Sharing is caring, they can have half the lane and the cars the other half, It's cheating when one party steals the entire lane
  7. got the same
  8. total climb on the 34Km?
  9. Awesome ride. New PB for me. A much better experience than down and dirty. My only complaint would be those dame road morons riding that road race. I really hate road cyclists
  10. check the 2xl pile, they were mixed up this morning
  11. Route profile or elevation of the 34K? I'm keen to give this a bash.
  12. Engine - No. Car Model - Yes! The Gti has a spoiler that sticks out more than the spoiler on the tsi so a boot rack that fits on a tsi won't always work on a gti, hence the model
  13. Get a Saris Bones, It's stable and there's no way the bike can scratch the car unlike the Thule. Bones also works well with cars that have spoilers where Thule does not.
  14. seen this many times at running races. They run the route, drink the coke and water, collect the medal and t-shirt without paying a cent and think it's acceptable. It's people like this that cause water points to run dry and the back of the pack people suffer because of them. I don't see much difference between these people and people who steal!
  15. I get it and I agree. A Night bus would be a good cheap alternative.
  16. All i'm saying is that you should budget R700 for your outing if you are planning on drinking, or if you only have R400 for dinner, don't drink. Being single, I would welcome the idea of 24/7 public transport and use it but the reality is that we don't have that and won't have that in the near future, so for now, if I go out I either don't drink or budget the extra R600 for cab fare if I want to drink. (R300 home and R300 back to fetch my car the next day).
  17. If you can't afford the taxi fare back then you can't afford to go out. The other solution is not to drink.
  18. before you hit the wall
  19. Once I lose more weight I will. us fattys can't have the pressure too low.
  20. Having recently converted to tubeless, I feel like I have more control of the bike in corners. When I feel like the bike is sliding, I can counter. Never had any puncture issues with tubes, ran slime in the tubes and liners. I also prefer the lower pressure. Tubes were 3bar + and tubeless is 2bar front and back
  21. awesome. Going back to Sterkfontein in early Jan. Will defo give this a try
  22. Did the Yellow route on Sat. We must have missed some markers coz we only got 25Kms but it was a awesome ride. The only issue was wasting 10mins @ the gate coz the guard was told to tell us to wait for some unknown reason
  23. take it to garmin. They in honeydew. +/- R800 and they will switch it for a new one
  24. It's not really a catch. It's more an assumption which made the person an @$$ but to answer your question, there's 3 of us in my office so far.
  25. I've done the same.
