  1. Has anyone tried the sunrace 11-50 cassette with the M8000 long cage ?
  2. sorry, I meant sunrace or shimano. Sunrace it is. Thanks
  3. so anyway... back to my question. SRAM 11-46 or Shimano 11-46 ? Incase anyone else wants to do this, a 20c coin fits perfectly in tension bolt and will open with that. No Special tool required!
  4. Thanks i didn't shorten the chain and it seems fine so far. I also didn't touch the clutch and also seems fine so far. It's the M8000 at the back and looks like it's long cage so think i'll be good.
  5. Thanks for the help, It's done Have a quick one regarding the cassette ratios. I'm on 11-40 at the moment and would like to switch to 11-46. Which is the better option between the Sunrace 11-46 and XT 11-46? I'm leaning towards the sunrace.
  6. Thanks
  7. Hi I've decided to switch my 2x11 to a 1x11 and have a few questions. I know the BCD is 96 and am fetching a M8000 32T chainring later today. The stuff that I am not 100% certain of. Will my current xt rear derailleur work ? (Specs say that is a XT Shadow) Will I need a chain guide on the front? (Getting a M8000 32T Chainring for the front) If I need to shorten the chain, Am I correct in saying that i should put it onto the big cog on the rear, add 2 links and shorten there?
  8. my first attempt at long exposure http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r9/dreamz_shared/DSC_0099_zpsgerw4rm7.jpg
  9. Sell it, and buy something better. It's cheaper to buy the new bike than upgrade parts.
  10. Bio-strath works. so does neurovance
  11. have you tried lyno?
  12. GT Zasker 9r elite. Around 12K
  13. Agree, The 310XT is great. My 405 broke and garmin upgraded me to a 310xt. I got the quick release for the bike and love it. I'd even go as far to say that I think it's more accurate than my 405.
  14. Thanks. 26" seems hard to find, but will try find some and ditch those useless crossmarks
  15. I want to replace my crossmarks. On the rare occasion that I am able to ride fast, they just don't seem to have enough grip. Either the front or back starts to slide out. Any recommendations? Was thinking of trying the racing ralph / rocket ron combo out. How much better would that be over the crossmarks?
  16. leave the mtb at home and take the fishing rods. Bazley is a awesome fishing spot.
  17. it was. Entrance has moved. Once u go under the gautrain bridge, turn left. Take your next left, and drive until u get to the boomgate. pay your R40 and drive down to the start. And it's defo worth the R40.
  18. Thanks, Will attempt a 2nd loop this weekend.
  19. How many km's do you guys get out the Red route? Max I can find is 35Km. Is that correct or am I missing some signs?
  20. Been Seeing Sarah Campbell (physio). Agree about the miracles. Some serious voodoo. As much as I hate bunkies, I know how good they are for me. I still can't believe how something so simple (and painful) helped so much. Prior to lyno, I tried various physios, podiatrist, orthopod... All a big waste of money and made my problems worse. couldn't take the injuries and pain so stopped running for 3years. I'm eternally grateful for lyno. Solved my running problems
  21. The best advice anyone gave me was to try lynotherapy. I used to pronate so bad that I ran in motion control shoes. My ITB was almost chronic and I was almost always injured. I went for lynotherapy and now run in neutral shoes and injury free. The idea behind it is that you strengthen the weak muscles and run in neutral shoes. I've also made the transition to nike free runs which I use daily. It's a 3 month base building with daily running and lots of strength work to get the weak muscles strong but I think it's worth it.
  22. 2 tubes 2 bombs 1 pump patchkit first aid kit multitool tyre levers cable ties 2 powerlinks leatherman plugs + solution + plug screwdriver thingi In the past 6 months, have not needed any of it. Thinking of dumping some stuff.
  23. Thanks, That makes lots of sense. I didn't consider that I was under eating and I defo am.
  24. reached another milestone this morning. I'm finally a member of the sub 100 club. Down to 99kg Just have 2 major issues to work through. 1.) Fueling right, I bonked after riding 5k's on Sat and struggled to ride a dismal 17k's This may be linked to point 2. 2.) Overtraining. I seem to have resolved the headaches and insomnia. Headaches with a potassium supplement and the insomnia just seemed to go away. 20Kg's down and 25Kg's to go
  25. Most people who have ever attempted to trim down has hit that plateau where it seems, no matter what you do, you are stuck at that weight. The only thing to do is to change what you currently doing now as it's not working. Change what you eat and change how you exercise. Hit the gym, build mini cardio circuits and do those. Also add weight training in. Good Luck!
