  1. Hi My mate pressed the brake lever on his bike when the wheel wasn't on. This resulted in the pads being stuck together. I've taken the pads off and pushed the pistons back with a large flat screwdriver. I then put the pads back in, mounted the caliper, spun the wheel (it spun without catching much), I then pressed the brake lever and tighted the caliper. This didn't help much as it's still binding a bit too much. The brakes are promax hornet. What is the easiest way to fix this? i have a bleed kit and dot 4 brake fluid. If I fill 1 syringe with brake fluid and connect it to the lever, followed by pushing the pistons back, would this work?

  7. Thanks for the advice I will get a new cable. The cage is bent, it's not the angle of the pic. Will take it to the lbs and see if they can straighten it / replace the cage.
  8. Hi I'm having trouble setting the gears. The limit screws are perfect but I can't get the fine adjustments right. The gear cable was replaced 150km ago. If I start off on the high gears, it changes up and down perfectly form 8 to 2 but once I change up to the 1st gear (biggest cog) then I cant change down again and if I adjust the barrel, it changes down but not up. so am I doing something wrong or is this hanger bent?
  9. wherever you decide to buy it from... don't forget to check for free delivery and if your multitool can fit in it
  10. saddle bag to camelbak to multitool.... if you don't have any of those by now, then you shouldn't be riding a bike!
  11. Awesome. Well done CWC
  12. I've got the 520 peddles and used to love them. That was until I rode in mud. They are hard to clean when the mud dries. Rather pay a bit more and find something more mud friendly

  15. yup, same wobble i'm talking about Anyway, the bike rides fine, i've done 131km so far, I just wanted to check if this is something i need to be worried about.
  16. Thanks, Problem solved
  17. I removed the cassette (chain whip and cassette removal tool) and the plastic bit was held with 3 or 4 clips which came off very easily) freewheel. Bike is on a stand, I peddle the wheel then freewheel it and I can see the cassette moving side to side There's no play if you move it by hand
  18. The cassette on my new bike "wobbles". When I say wobble I mean it moves around and it's not straight. I asked the LBS about this and was told that the plastic bit behind the cassette was making it look like the cassette is wobbling. I removed the plastic and it still wobbles Is this Normal? Is the wheel not true or is the wheel bent?
  19. my 1st 30K race. Enjoyed it, wish I rode a bit faster. The only thing i didn't enjoy apart from the cold was the mud that got stuck around my cleats.
  20. Rode for the 2nd time on Sat. Enjoyed it as much as I did the first time. My only suggestion is to move those metal rods that the direction arrows are on. I slipped in some sand and almost got taken out by one. Another person riding in our group also had a close call with a metal rod. anyway, will be back for the 3rd ride soon
  21. Thanks again everyone. Took Delivery of my Fuji today
