  8. Thanks for the race report Fanie. How amazing were the Traffic cops, much to our amusement. They were happy to escort the riders into Komga. And Chris is a legend, with his support of cycling in the area. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

  13. Wow, what an experience. My first time being involved in an event of this nature. I must have driven over 2000km over the last 2 weeks marking, visiting landowners, organising water points. And the riders, awesome bunch. I even had the leaders marking the route for me because of a hiccup in land access, when they caught up to me. 14. If anyone is at any of the overnight stops on the day, Queenstown, at the Rec on Friday, Thomas River on Saturday, Komga Show Grounds on Sunday, or Kei Country Club on Monday, come and have a beer with us. Afterparty at The Deck at Morgans Bay Hotel on Monday
  15. So who is riding this weekend, the final route maps If you are in the area on Monday and want to ride the last day, enter online at https://greatkeitrek.myactive.co.za/capturedetails/registration.aspx , or you can enter Monday morning at the Komga showgrounds The route has been affected by the extremely wet autumn we've had, so excuse the length of the gravel roads on day 2. I got chased back to my bakkie last Sunday by pig-hunters and their dogs, and an Ngulube on my recce, but the route was too wet anyway. My bike after the recce

  23. Bass are loads of fun on a 6/7 wt setup. I either use a streamer or a hair popper that I tie myself, on a floating line. I have stepped on one of these buggers, it bit me on the top of my foot, but luckily couldn't get through 3 layers of leather. I shat myself
