  1. Awesome U19s. Wiped the floor with Pakistan. Tertius Bosch's son man of the match, he would have been proud.
  2. So the solution is to "Chop off the horns, wipe the bum, and eat" which is how I like my steaks
  3. Excellent Letter in the Cape Times, via Ride Mag
  4. Smoke of what, you talking about Bob Marley, right???? :woot: The point of riding only on water is to kickstart your fat burning engine. So that's what I do. Up to 4 1/2 hrs. But then I try to keep my HR in the aerobic zone, 180-age. But I'm not always successful at that. Last ride my av hr was 15bpm too high, but I still managed only on water. I had to give my emergency gel to a diabetic buddy.
  5. Hi Gerhard, if you keen for a slow trundle around the hills on tracks that the bike race doesn't cover give me a shout, I'm always keen for a ride, but it will be slow!!!
  6. Well done IanJ. She's a beauty. Maxie was getting frustrated. The bike's not moving
  7. The figures I used are in Spocalc Spokecalc.zip
  8. Arise Sir Curtley http://www.trinidadexpress.com/sports/Roberts-Richardson-Ambrose-to-get-knighthoods-247168041.html
  9. Properly adjusted it's quiet, which is how I like my bikes. After riding the Ragley, I rode my Yeti this WE, bugger it is noisy!!
  10. Geez my brain's tired. I had to go to my garage to check. It's a Fire-eye, got it from Usher. It's survived with me, which is a good recommendation.
  11. Sorry, will it make amends if I post
  12. Trail on my farm-taken by my wife The Yeti on a trip up the wild coast
  13. Found these pics on my phone, Samsung S4 My farm after a devastating fire last year
  14. Very nice, at a nice price from Planet-X
  15. Only when she's looking up, or in the wind on the back of the bakkie, otherwise they're half-cocked.
  16. Should change the title to "Nige settles wheel size debate"
  17. Really, I never saw that, that is bad sportsmanship, and would never have been tolerated in Steve Waugh's time, shows how they have fallen, didn't think much of Punter as a Captain, he was lucky to have inherited the core of a mighty side from Waugh. Whatever decisions he made, he had the players to back him up. Hopefully Pup will be a better captain. As much as I cannot stand the stereotypical Aussie cricketer, there is no better test than to be playing them at their best. He's proven that he has the ability to bowl in tests, so I hope he's included, pity about Parnell, I rate him as a better player than Maclaren, with the ball and bat.
  18. Is'nt that the Aussie way, rather than be accused of bad sportsmanship, gungho it out, I think he would have thought that the worlds best no11(Lyon) would be able to block it out, after going 9 tests without being given out, and without Rodgers brainfart they could have done it.
  19. Playing the wheel Lyre , you get quite good at it after a while. It's easy to make your own truing jig, get Roger Musson's book "Professional guide to wheel building", he's got a plan in it, and it's a good book to have if you are going to do your own wheels http://www.wheelpro.co.uk/wheelbuilding/book.php
  20. His attitude used to grate me too, but he seems to have mellowed somewhat, and become more introspective.
  21. From @7polly7
  22. I'm not going to give up, but it is a long slog, and included in it is a bit of a hiatus from training. The worst was that we had a 13yo girl riding with us on Sun, and she was stronger than me, something that I'm not used to. WRT cramps, are you drinking enough water, when you are not riding. I picked that up in an article that I read, maybe by Eades??? where he says that he cramps up a lot if he doesn't keep hydrating throughout the day. I have picked up my water consumption, with a full 800ml water bottle with me all the time that gets filled up whenever there is a decent water source (it helps that our water is the sweetest I've ever tasted). I'd normally have cramped on the ride yesterday, but I didn't, not even a twinge. edit: decent water source= a water pool without cow cr@p in it
  23. Fudge loves sitting at my feet, can be a pita when I'm busy, as I'm tripping over her all the time.
  24. If anyone gets a price list from crede, please post. I rode my first 4hr+ ride on lchf today without carbs. I found that my energy seemed to come and go. I'd be struggling along, avoiding the bonk, then suddenly I'd be able to pick up the pace and catch everyone. Then I'd have no power again. It was a hard ride, constant deep tech river crossings and steep hills. It was an interesting morning. I rode with a buddy who's type 2 on a conventional diabetic diet, and it was interesting comparing energy levels. We were pretty much even.
  25. Have a look at the LCHF thread. Lot of chaps doing the same there.
