  5. Event Name: The Great Kei Trek MTB Experience When: 28 April 2018 - 30 April 2018 Where: Queenstown Airport, Eastern Cape Category: MTB The Great Kei Trek; a tour, not a race, from Queenstown to Morgan Bay. The riding – much of the route will be based on existing roads and tracks, but we have met with many of the farmers and other landowners in the region and they have granted us permission to build and create our own tracks. The route will take you from Queenstown to Thomas River, to Komga , to Morgan Bay. The route has been scouted by Deanbean, and will improve from year to year, as we refine the race and gain access to more properties. Go to Event Page

  7. I love my job. Yesterday working with cattle I had 20min to spare so chucked a fly in the dam and caught 3 bass for supper. Nothing tastier than freshly caught bass in beer batter. IMHO bass should never be returned. They just breed too fast.
  8. I'll never use a down tube bottle cage again, Baboon c&@p, I hope it was from a baboon...

  10. Recce for an upcoming race, the Great Kei Trek. Windmills Roads roads krantzes and a beer or more. I was planning on riding a bit more but my watch died, and as we all know, if it's not on Strava it didn't happen. So I had another beer instead and phoned for a lift Edit and a zebra or 2 or more Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  11. Bass fishing is always fun, regardless of tackle. More so with flies though.
  12. Saturday was the Kempston's Thomas River MTB Challenge. The route has been taken over by 2 keen mtb'ers for the last few years, and this years route was the best ever. Perfect mix of gravel, jeep track and single track. JG and Erik have an awesome route. I did the 60km, which turned out to be 57km. Photos courtesy of Janine Cotterrell and others Some of the singletrack, it was soo much fun JG's bridge over the Thomas River The little wall, my china  Into the donga's Erik's bike and his bridge, very rustic, but it works A few views One of my bike The one waterpoint that I was scared of, at 1/2 way, they had a punch, that I didn't have, but Erik the trailbuilder had a few shots, and he said it made his lips numb , the wattle cutters waterpoint and the post wouldn't be complete with some of the prizes and Saterday lunch

  15. Club weekend in the wild coast, lots of beers were drunk and major *** spoken. Great fun. Moonrise over the Seagulls Hotel pub at Qolorha mouth Some disinterested locals Upper reaches of the Kei river estuary Lunch and beers at the Gxara Falls, it was the first time I've been here, despite walking and riding up the Wild coast for many many years, and it's only a few km from the Kei River And of course it all ends at the Shebeen Sunday ride I was lazy, and only took one pic, overlooking the Kobonqaba river.
  16. To the wild coast for a club weekend. Well my car brought me this far. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk

  19. It's wonderful Dale, even the gravel roads are quiet, and the drivers are cool. They give you space.
  20. Mine's in, can't wait, but first the Club weekend  (no beer emoji?)
  21. I needed time in the saddle, I've got a ride planned and need to be fit enough to ride it, which is very lacking. Took the steel beast for a trundle into the mountain View of The Hogs from the Dontsa loop of the Amatola Hiking Trail High up in the mountain overlooking Gubu Dam and the AFC forests to Mt Kemp Keiskammahoek in the distance Stutterheim to the other side and the obligatory bike pic in the forest near the bottom
  22. My mom and dad planted this oak tree when they got back from honeymoon, 55 years ago and whats great is that my dad is still around to thank him
  23. Try OH Sales in West Bank. My new fav tool shop. They have been able to source some metal working hand tools that I've been struggling to find for ages.
