  1. ? Schools back in... who's skating now? nobody thats the problem now we cleaning up the mess of all our casuals we had to hire over the holidays
  2. ok people i do regularly check the chain and from irst hand experience those chain checking tools are the biggest hogwash anybody could sell to you i use a good old steel ruler and well to be honest the chain has not been stretched by ten percent yet!!!!! my road bikes chain is on its last legs now after having it for close on 25000km and by no means do i ride easy i race in the elite bunch and train on average 28hours a week just do a simple check guys go and use your chain checker and then go find and old school steel ruler and measure your chain that way i promise you that your trusty chain tool is giving you an inaccuracy measure of at least 50percent if not more!!!!!!
  3. hahaha sorry johan reply was done in haste as i am busy at work today!!
  4. ok johan the only difference is that the FSA cranks fasten t othe crank via the old style bot into crank ala shimano hollowtech 1 style but only on one side and has a similar diameter bolt to the hollowtech bolt so instead of the fancy tool needed to fasten the crank arm on to the axle and then using pinch bolts you only need an 8mm allen keyturtlek2009-01-14 04:20:01
  5. opel give fit shack a call and see how it goes from there
  6. ? Lazy chop i just ride BB i dont waste my time with worrying about that stuff!!!
  7. true BB but i tried it and to be honest after the second time i changed my chain i said to hell with it hahahaha
  8. Opel in my opinion it is not about joining a club to see how the rides are you must be able to go to a group of guys and say can i join and if they have the attitude of um no go play somewhere else then you have a bad group of guys that you dont want to associate with rather go to a few different clubs or group rides and then decide from there if you like the atmosphere or you would rather go to another place
  9. Yeah, its not the speed of the tdf group so much as the tendency to all fall down at alarming regularity that would make me suggest an alternative for a beginner. well i have never had that issue of all falling down i just hate the ignorance for road rules and absolute Cr@ppy attitudes of some people in the group that will turn any beginner away from cycling
  10. you might be the lucky one to not have that problem unfortunately my buddy had his come loose while in the lead group of the 94.7 last year (yes road bike but it is the first time in three years that it happened) and it is not the first i have heard but give emotion cycling a call they wont hesitate to offer a solution if it happens
  11. change the cranks auctionlamb has a set of ultegra cranks for sale really good price!!!!!!!! and then change the pedals you can get a decent set of look keo's for under R600 if i am not mistaken
  12. if she is too heavy handlebars stem an seatpost are the major things i would change i changed mine and shaved half a kg off of my bike
  13. i used to be schizophrenic but we're cured now!!!
  14. SD i am having the same symptoms as you but its not because of full moon or the weather its because of idiots not doing thier jobs!!!!!!
  15. 1hill since my garmin got ridden over by a taxi i have been able to judge myself better on the bike all i do is go balls to the wall and when i crack i crack badly hahaha my averages have improved and i am now at the front of the bunch most mornings so just ride your bike hahahha
  16. STM do not go for that fork i have heard nothing but complaints about DT forks rather go for a sid or a reba for that sort of cash
  17. first two things i would check are pedals and headset check your play on your pedal axles and then if they are not moving check if your headset is tight enough
  18. i ride the second lap to do it with my girlfriend who only rides her bike once a year at argus and we do it for photos and for good laughs it even takes us 6 hours so yea its just for the vibe
  19. ? In one of the cycling mags a while ago they also reported that Bart Brentjens also rides a frame that is too small for him. The comment was that he rode with this size frame ever since he bagan cycling and are so used to it now that he cannot change to the correct size. Who will contest that Brentjens is not a worthy champ. Maybe it is NOT all about the bike???????? I remember that' date=' Big H. Fabian Cancellara is another one who rides a very small frame for his size. [/quote'] ya cancellara rides a 56 frame or something but even worse is jens voigt he rides the biggest bike made by cervelo and still rides an extra length seatpost and a 140mm stem (custom made) turtlek2009-01-12 03:04:36
  20. might i say hectic traditionalist???
  21. Cool' date=' personal preference vs. what the book says. [/quote'] yup i am busy reading the book on his mindset how lance does it and it really is not about the bike but rather how he puts everything into perspective i actually think if you gave him a trek 1000 and shimano sora grouppo he would still be able to kick some serious A$$
  22. apparently he has a longer upper body and is more comfy on his 58cm rather than a 56 or even a 54 as his legs suggest he should ride
  23. lots and lots of warm water rinsed off with a jet of cold water from the hose pipe NO HIGH PRESSRE HOSE!!!!!
