  1. Thanks Cornerz. Very odd bike
  2. Does anyone have any info on this bike, and an estimate of what it could be worth? The brand seems to be "Evolution" and the front chain drive is used by a small amount of "push and pull" action with the handlebars. Any ideas?
  3. Sufferfest is awesome, you won't be sorry. It's a huge download though, so make sure your internet cap is still good... Trainright (Chris Carmichael's series) is good too. What I like is that most of the DVD's has a bit of race footage here and there (although Sufferfest is all race footage). Also look at Spinervals (Coach Troy). He is very entertaining and really makes the time pass a bit faster.
  4. What impresses even more is that the reports indicate that Lance didn't even taper for this race...used it as part of his training for France
  5. Geez, looks like horrible conditions to race in! Why don't they ever broadcast this race? Great pics though, thanks Gummi!

  7. Seems so: http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/riders-disqualified-on-giro-ditalias-penultimate-stage
  8. Very nice looking wheel! I prefer a deeper section though, but those for a hilly race would probably be the business!
  9. Ooo...no, I haven't. Will do a quick search for them on the net. These Lightweights looks a lot stronger than the previous models, sort of a Firecrest look to them...
  10. Saw a pic of this last week...that is incredibly pretty!
  11. Nope...that's a Look frame
  12. Where do you buy the dried wheatgrass MDW?
  13. Yip, just fit crank, adjust current FD and off you go...easy as that
  14. No, just use a DA chain for both sets. Suppose you could use a more durable chain (lower end) for training, with a removable link...easy and quick enough to swop out chains then too... Starting to sound like a lot work though
  15. What I do is run a top-end cassette on the racing wheels, in my case DA, and on the training wheels, the more durable, but heavier 105 cassette. This way, the training cassette, which stacks on the km's, doesn't wear so quick, and the extra weight is not an issue. You could save a bit of cash in the long run this way around, as your DA cassette wouldn't need replacing as often as your 105...which is quite a bit cheaper... Just my 2c
  16. That FD looks quite a bit bigger than the Di2 FD
  17. I have an item I want to order, so if anybody is doing a CRC order, please let me know...
  18. Gaan chat met Mario by Action Cycles, hy het laas vir my een reg gemaak en 'n briljante stukkie werk gedoen!
  19. Where did you buy these Dangle?
  20. With those sounds, you just know he came down hard...I hate crashing!!!
  21. Mampara, I have found with quite a number of big name brands - it's not the brand itself, which is worldwide and has excellent support, but the SA importer/distributor that give terrible service. They are very fortunate that these are big brand names and people buy them because of the brand name and reputation worldwide, as NOBODY would buy them if the decision was to be made on the support and attitude of the SA importer/distributor. Obviously not all the SA importers/distributors, as some are excellent, but there are a couple that just make you want to tear a phone book into bits
  22. Willehond - I can add my experience, for what it's worth As I mentioned, I race with a compact and am a power rider / sprinter - not a climbing type at all. As far as gearing go, with a 11/23 or 11/25, I find that you still have a nice ratio - you won't be shifting more than usual. I found that you get more comfortable at a slightly higher candence, but then again, that's very economical, so not really a bad thing. As far as sprints go, I have never spun out in a sprint - feels just about the same to me as I recall a standard chainring, but then again, could be that being used to the slightly higher cadence makes it feel the same. Either way, I am yet to spin out in a sprint. Hope this helps.
  23. I ride (train and race) with a compact crank and wouldn't suggest you leave it on the bike if your riding is generally flat. With a compact and a 28 on the back, the previous owner must have lived somewhere really hilly. You can change the blades on a compact to a 52/36, which is pretty close to a standard crank, so you can get close, but I would say either change the crank (first choice) or change the chainrings (second choice).
  24. I'll be out there for a couple of hours...
  25. I can totally agree about CWC (have not dealt with Wsquared yet). Had quite a number or orders with CWC over the past year or so, the last being pretty big, and their service is excellent! Pricing was also better than I could find online, so importing would have been more expensive! I'll support CWC all the way!!
